The popular action RPG Path of Exile 2 has released a new look at the fantasy, dungeon-crawling gameplay in a thrilling new trailer pitting players against all sorts of myths and monsters.

Developed by New Zealand-based video game company Grinding Gears Games, the trailer has players venture deep into the dungeons and untamed wilds of the fantasy world of Wraeclast. Facing everything from teeming hordes of the undead to voracious giant spiders, players unleash devastating spells and fantasy moves to stay one step ahead of the creeping evil.

Taking place approximately twenty years after the events of the original game, society continues to rebuild after the fall of the villainous Kitava. Shady figures attempt to fill the power vacuum, plunging Wraeclast into chaos once again as festering evil rises from the darkness.

Grinding Gears Games launched the original Path of Exile in 2013, with free-to-play versions on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Expansions have refined and updated gameplay mechanics while adding new loot and ascendancy classes for keep players thrilled by the dungeon-crawler. A sequel was announced in 2019 but has faced production delays due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Path of Exile 2 is developed by Grinding Gears Games. No release date or targeted beta period has officially been announced.
