Across DC Comics' long history, it has been the home to hundreds of distinct heroes. However, between the continuity resetting within 2011's  New 52 and 2016's DC Rebirth, there are many heroes who seem to be completely absent from the current continuity. There are numerous heroes who once inhabited the DC universe as either stand alone heroes or members of teams who after various reboots are nowhere to be found. So here today we're going to look back and see the heroes we've lost to time and the unstoppable force that is the retconning of comicbook continuity. So without further ado, here are 10 Past DC Heroes Who’ve Yet to Be Introduced In The Current Continuity.

10 Hawk (Holly Granger)

Any comicbook reader is all too familiar of the concept of a hero passing their mantle to another, having a new individual don the costume of a previously established character. This has happened with characters ranging from Blue Beetle, to the Flash, to even Batman. Following the deaths of the original Hawk and Dove, their Mantles were assumed by sisters Dawn and and Holly Granger. Holly's time as Hawk was cut short due to her death in Blackest Night,  and she was soon replaced by the original Hawk, Hank Hall. However, following the two reboots in the past decade, we haven't seen any sign of Holly. Though we saw her death in Blackest Night, as we've seen through Ted Kord, reboots allow for any past hero alive or dead to make an appearance.

9 Superboy Prime

Though Superboy Prime is primarily known for his time as a villain throughout the 2000's, he was originally introduced as a hero in Crisis on Infinite Earths, giving him the pass onto this list. Superboy Prime is an extremely memorable character whom few could forget. A Superboy from Earth Prime, a world in which he is the only hero, Superboy Prime's superficial standards of what makes a "real hero" drive him to turn on the other heroes of the DC Universe, becoming a twisted (albeit whiny) reflection of the man of steel.

8 Peacemaker

Although we've recently seen Peacemaker in Jeff Lemire's Inferior Five, he's yet to make an appearance in the current primary continuity of DC comics. The original inspiration and blueprint for The Comedian in Alan Moore's Watchmen, the Peacemaker is a hero who will use any amount of violence and weaponry as long as he believes it will ultimately help bring peace. His gun toting methods and anti-hero nature lend him to being the DC hero with the most similarities to Marvel's Punisher. His inclusion in Inferior Five shows that DC hasn't forgotten the hero, so we won't be surprised is he makes some kind of appearance in another series at some point soon.

7 Pantha

A former member of the Teen Titans, we haven't seen Pantha in the primary continuity of DC comics since we saw her head be punched clean off her body by Superboy Prime in Infinite Crisis. However, as we mentioned prior, following reboots such as New 52 and DC Rebirth, anyone is fair game to show up! As a character who was killed by an individual who's not in the modern continuity, Pantha's availability is quite open.

6 Judomaster

Judomaster is one many former members of the Justice Society of America whose been absent from DC comics since The New 52 in 2011. The mantle of Judomaster has been held by numerous heroes such as Hadley Jagger and most recently Sonia Sato. The character's nature as a martial artist lends them to possess similarities to Marvel's Iron Fistand unlike other entries on this list, we never saw the end to Judomaster. This means that were the Justice Society to reform in the current landscape of the DC Universe, we wouldn't be surprised if any of Judomaster's incarnations were to make an appearance.

5 Jakeem Thunder

Another former member of the currently defunct Justice Society of America, Jakeem Thunder has not made an appearance in the comics since the New 52. This is truly a shame, as there are few superheroes in American comics quite like Jakeem Thunder. Utilizing the ability to summon a superpowered entity known as the Thunderer to fight alongside him, Jakeem Thunder brings a unique dynamic to DC Comics.

And we're going to address the elephant in the room: Jakeem Thunder is the closest thing to a Stand User that DC has access to. With the popularity of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure in the past few years, we're surprised that DC hasn't jumped on the opportunity to capitalize.

4 Jade

One of the ramifications of the numerous reboots DC has undergone in the past decade was the loss of Jade. The daughter of Alan Scott, Jade was tied to the Green Lantern series due to her aforementioned relation to Alan Scott and her romance with Kyle Rayner. Although Jade was prominently featured in the Brightest Day crossover event as one of the characters revived as a White Lantern, she's been completely absent from DC Comics since Flashpoint in 2011. Seeing that we've seen the untimely fate of her Father Alan Scott in both the primary universe as well as Earth 2, Jade would surely need a new backstory if we were to ever see her again in the DC Universe.

3 Red Tornad0 (John Smith)

Despite his very prominent appearance in animated series such as 2008's Batman: The Brave and the Bold, we haven't seen the original version of the robotic hero, The Red Tornado in quite some time.  Although the mantle of The Red Tornado has since been more recently been adopted by the Lois Lane of Earth 2, John Smith, The Original Red Tornado has been completely absent. As a cybernetic individual, Red Tornado fills a role similar to Marvel's Vision that has been ultimately unfilled since New 52 and DC Rebirth.

2 Wildcat

Wildcat, Ted Grant is a character whom since the numerous reboots of continuity, has been relegated to Earth 2, leaving him completely absent from the primary timeline. This is a real shame as Wildcat was previously known as being responsible for training heroes such as Black Canary and Batman himself in hand to hand combat, helping to give a sense of history to the DC Universe. Having a variation of the character reside in Earth 2 is ultimately confirmation that we'll never see him in the primary universe, so we're still hopeful that Ted Grant will eventually make an appearance.

1 Cyclone

Going hand in hand with the absence of Red Tornado is the disappearance of Maxine Hunkle, A.K.A. Cyclone. The Granddaughter of Red Tornado, like many other heroes featured on this list Cyclone served as a member of the Justice Society of America until 2011. Seeing that neither her team nor her grandfather have appeared in this continuity, it's no surprise that we haven't seen Cyclone recently in DC. The only real hope we have of ever seeing her again is in alternate earths or in the off chance that DC make the decision to make a return to its previous continuity.
