The accolades for Bong Joon-ho's Parasite keep rolling in. The film recently topped Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight as the most on five star-rated film on Letterboxd.The social media site for film-lovers announced Parasite's surpassing of The Dark Knight by commenting on a user's tweet. Eight years ago, Letterboxd was founded in New Zealand by Karl von Randow and Matthew Buchanan. The site allows users to rate and write reviews about their favorite films, as well as connect with other film-buffs.

Starring Christain Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman, The Dark Knight released in the United States on July 18, 2008, and went on to be regarded as one of the best superhero films of all time. Currently, the film has a 94 percent rating among both critics and audience members on Rotten Tomatoes. The Dark Knight has won several Academy Awards, a British Academy Film Award and many People's Choice Awards.

Parasite was directed by Bong Joon-ho with a script from Joon-ho and Han Jin-won. It was the first international film to take home the Best Picture Award at the Oscars. It also won the awards for Best Director, Best Original Screenplay and Best International Feature Film.
