Paramount Players' Paranormal Activity movie reboot has found its main cast.

Per a report from The Wrap, the Paranormal Activity reboot will star Emily Bader, Roland Buck III, Dan Lippert and Henry Ayers-Brown in leading roles. Underwater director Will Eubank is directing the movie from a script by Happy Death Day and Freaky writer/director Christopher Landon, with Landon also producing alongside Jason Blum, Steven Schneider and Oren Peli.

Created by Peli, the franchise kicked off with 2007's Paranormal Activity, a micro-budgeted found-footage horror film in which a young couple are terrorized by a supernatural being in their home. The movie was a commercial hit -- grossing $193.4 million against a combined production and post-production budget of $230,000 -- and received positive reviews for its simple yet effective scares. Paramount and Blumhouse subsequently released five more films in the series, culminating with 2015's Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension. However, after The Ghost Dimension received negative reviews and only grossed $78.9 million (albeit, on a $10 million budget), the property was put on-hold indefinitely.

Plot and character details are currently under-wraps for the Paranormal Activity reboot. Prior to signing on for the project, Bader starred in the 2017 horror movie House of the Witch, in addition to playing Chloe on The CW's Charmed. Elsewhere, Buck has played the character Noah Sexton on Chicago Med since 2016, whereas Lippert has tackled recurring roles on the shows Son of Zorn and The Grand Slams in recent years. Finally, Ayers-Brown is likely best-known for playing Danny/Ned Hicks on the HBO drama The Deuce.

Landon has a history with the Paranormal Activity movies, having written Paranormal Activity 2-4 on top of writing/ directing 2014's Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones. The filmmaker confirmed he would be writing the latest Paranormal Activity film in Nov. 2020, saying "I think people are going to be really surprised by where we're taking this thing." It's one of a number of projects Paramount recently announced as exclusives for its Paramount + streaming platform, along with a Pet Sematary prequel and series based on the movies Fatal Attraction, Flashdance and The Italian Job.

Directed by Will Eubank from a script by Christopher Landon, the Paranormal Activity reboot stars Emily Bader, Roland Buck III, Dan Lippert and Henry Ayers-Brown. It premieres on Paramount+ in 2022.
