The spoils of last month's Comic-Con are already upon us, with the news that Paramount has signed on to release the movie version of indie graphic novel Last Man Standing.

I admit, I'd not heard of LMS, despite Deadline Hollywood calling it "the sensation of this past Comic-Con when it debuted"; maybe I wasn't paying attention at the right time or something. But Daniel LuVisi's graphic novel about a genetically-created super-soldier escaping captivity in a dystopian future not only sold out at CCI, but has been picked up by Heavy Metal to become a series in addition to the Paramount deal, which apparently plans to make the GN into "a multiplatform franchise property." Soon, we won't be able to escape some future macho, it seems.
