Paramount is quickly building its massive library for its recently rebranded streaming service. With a substantial new deal, the service can count on a number of South Park films to premiere exclusively on Paramount+.

The Hollywood Reporter recently revealed that South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have signed a deal with MTV for 14 South Park movies made exclusively for Paramount+. As per the terms of the deal, 2021 will see the release of two films with two more releasing in every year that follows until 2027. The deal also includes series renewals for South Park until Season 30.

The creators will also work with Paramount+ to produce new content, again for exclusive premiere on the streaming service. This new deal comes after a long hiatus in the series due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Though it should be noted that Parker and Stone produced several specials in that time, including "The Pandemic Special" and the "South ParQ Vaccination Special."

In a statement, Parker and Stone said, "Comedy Central has been our home for 25 years and we're really happy that they’ve made a commitment to us for the next 75 years... When we came to ViacomCBS with a different way to produce the show during the pandemic, Chris (McCarthy), Nina (Diaz), Keyes (Hill-Edgar) and Tanya (Giles) were immediately supportive and enabled us to try something new that turned out to be really well received. We can’t wait to get back to doing traditional South Park episodes but now we can also try out new formats. It’s great to have partners who will always take a chance with us."
