Paramount Pictures is zeroing in on a deal to adapt Insurrection v3.6, the BOOM! Studios series by Blake Masters, Michael Alan Nelson and Michael Penick, Heat Vision reports. Masters, who created the Showtime drama Brotherhood, is attached to write the screenplay.

Debuting in March 2011, Insurrection v3.6 is set in a future where powerful corporations have become more powerful than governments, and use armies of bio-engineered clones to wage war. For generations, the clones haven't questioned why they live and die while their creators risk nothing. But now on clone stands up against injustice, igniting a revolution that will change the galaxy.

Michael De Luca and Matt Tolmach will produce along with BOOM! Studios' Ross Richie.

Masters, who developed NBC's short-lived spinoff Law & Order: LA, also penned the adaptation of the BOOM! miniseries 2 Guns. The crime drama, which stars Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg, opens Aug. 16, 2013.
