Pacific Rim Uprising Debuts First Trailer - And The Biggest Kaiju, Ever


The long awaited first trailer for Pacific Rim Uprising has arrived, and it's full of as much Jaeger vs Kaiju action you could have hoped for -- not to mention the introduction of the biggest monster the world has ever seen.

Set years after the event of the first film, Pacific Rim Uprising follows Jake Pentecost, the son of Idris Elba’s Stacker Pentecost, who witnessed his father’s demise at the end of the original. In August, Boyega teased that the two year gap between the films’ settings allowed humanity to upgrade the Jaegers so as to make them more agile. Gipsy Avenger takes its name from Gipsy Danger, which was piloted by Raleigh Becket (Charlie Hunnam) and Mako Mori (Rinko Kikuchi) and in the first film.

Pacific Rim Uprising is directed by Steven S. DeKnight from a script written by Guillermo del Toro, Zak Penn, Jon Spaihts, Derek Connolly, Emily Carmichael, Kira Snyder and T.S. Nowlin. Opening March 23, 2018, the film stars John Boyega, Scott Eastwood, Cailee Spaeny and Jing Tian, with Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Day and Burn Gorman.
