The massive kaiju-fighting robots of “Pacific Rim” known as Jaegers have come a long way since the first, Brawler Yukon, the stubby-legged fighter first seen in “Pacific Rim: Tales from Year Zero,” the comic book prequel-adaptation of the 2013 film. Now, a slew of new Jaegers have taken to the field in an advertisement for the upcoming sequel movie, “Pacific Rim: Uprising.”

The advertisement shows three distinct Jaegers. The center blue one appears to be a redesign of the first film’s primary Jaeger, Gipsy Danger, piloted by the original movie’s protagonists. The red and brown Jaegers on either side of Gipsy Danger appear to be new to the film series. The left red Jaeger sports a lithe, mobile design, while the right brown Jaeger seems to be built for tanky, endurance brawling.

The advertisement’s background shows one of the original film’s otherworldly kaiju antagonists ripping through buildings in an urban setting. As for the call signs and pilots of these two mysterious Jaegers, we may have to wait for “Pacific Rim: Uprising.”

Debuting in theaters February 18, 2018, “Pacific Rim: Uprising” is a production of Legendary Pictures directed by Steven S. DeKnight and starring John Boyega, Scott Eastwood, Cailee Spaeny and Jing Tian.
