Overwatch 2 Announced With Epic, Eight-Minute Cinematic Trailer

Overwatch 2 was announced at BlizzCon 2019 with an emotional, extended trailer.

The cinematic announce trailer, titled "Zero Hour," was shared at the event. In the trailer, fan-favorite protagonists Winston, Tracer and Mei fly to Paris to assist civilians against the invasion of Null Sector forces. The ensuing battle leaves much of the city devastated and it becomes evident that the three companions are outmanned and outgunned. When Mei is injured, Winston decides to make the ultimate sacrifice for his teammates. However, he is not alone. Genji, Mercy, Reinhardt, and Brigitte enter the fray. Echo, a new character that fans have been anticipating for years, also swoops in to save the day. In the end, the team defeats the horde of enemies with the power of trust and friendship.

Overwatch officially released in 2016 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Window. A release on the Nintendo Switch followed in 2019. The immensely popular game received a lot of critical acclaim upon its release and, thanks to Overwatch League, has become a popular esport.

As of yet, a release date for Overwatch 2 hasn't been confirmed.
