    If you enjoyed the recent “Daredevil” arc starring Daily Bugle reporter Ben Urich, you’re going to flip over an upcoming issue of the series, teases writer Brian Michael Bendis. Issue #30, drawn by soon-to-be-regular artist Alex Maleev, will depict superheroes in the media in a way that’s never been done before at Marvel. “It’ll knock your socks off,” Bendis hints.

  • In more Daredevil news, writer/artist David Mack is planning to bring back the Echo character he created for the “Parts of a Hole” arc that ran through issues 9 through 15. At least one Mack-written mini-series is in the works, possibly for a 2002 release. He may also illustrate another Echo-driven story.
  • One of the more popular booths Friday was the one belonging to, where a television repeatedly played the short films guest-of-honor Alex Ross helped produce for his “Earth X” and “Marvels” projects. Crowds spilled into the aisles as dozens of fans clamored to see the amazing films, which resemble movie trailers and mix live action with animation.
  • If you were a fan of the recently cancelled “Marvel Knights” series, you can stop mourning. Stuart Moore, editor of the Marvel Knights line, says there are plans to eventually relaunch the title. “We’re putting that creative team together now,” he says.
  • “Whiteout’s” Steve Lieber is among the illustrators in the Artists Alley section of the convention floor. He’s signing books, drawing sketches and trying to make a buck. “I’m coming here with 110 trade paperbacks, and I’m hoping to leave here with fewer than five,” Lieber says. “I’m also hoping to retain my dignity.” Help him out by visiting booth 9188B.
