Starz's "Outlander" has cast Laurence Dobiesz as Alex Randall, the younger brother to the series' main antagonist Black Jack Randall.

The Wrap reports that Dobiesz will join the cast for season 2 of the wildly popular series based on the best-selling novels by Diana Gabaldon and adapted by "Battlestar Galactica's" Ronald D. Moore.

Despite their relation, Alex and his brother Randall are direct opposites in terms of personality and demeanor, with Alex described as gentle and kind rather than ruthlessly brutal like his brother.

Currently filming for a 2016 release, "Outlander" season 2 sees protagonists Jamie and Claire entering the world of French society as they attempt to infiltrate the Jacobite rebellion led by Prince Charles Stuart.
