Fans of Obsidian Entertainment’s crazy and colorful sci-fi RPG The Outer Worlds were treated to a cinematic trailer and early gameplay of their upcoming final expansion, Murder on Eridanos. While we won’t know everything until it releases, here’s much of what we can expect for the Unreliable crew’s latest adventure.

Rizzo's hired spokesperson Ruth Bellamy, who plays Halcyon Helen, winds up dead ahead of the brand-new Spectrum Brown Vodka release. You may recognize this movie/advertisement star from some of her posters plastered across the colony. As shown on the Halcyon System map, Eridanos is a gas giant with floating facilities in the atmosphere that harvest its gases for energy. The floating facility that you’ll be traveling to also happens to have a luxury hotel owned by the legally and morally dubious Sublight Corporation.

Similar to Peril on Gorgon, Eridanos will likely become available at a certain point midway through the main questline. When arriving at Eridanos, players will be allowed to stay in a penthouse at the luxury hotel. This room acts as a new home for you and your crewmates, giving you a little vacation from living on the Unreliable all the time. It also comes with an investigation board where you can add new evidence and make new connections.

Players who journey to Eridanos can expect to uncover new items like weapons and armor. One weapon fans hope to collect is Helen’s unnamed pistol that she is shown to wield in the trailer. The DLC is also adding three more unique Science Weapons to wield. Downloading the DLC will increase the max level for player characters by 5 and provide some new Perks and Flaws to acquire.

To help with the investigation, players will be given the Discrepancy Amplifier tool. It can scan various things for clues and evidence that would normally invisible to the naked eye. Once some evidence has been found, all you have to do is aim directly at it while looking through its scope then analyzing it, such as discovering hidden footprints. It also has an AI with its own personality that you can talk to.

As a high-profile murder mystery, players will have to gather up clues to the murder, finding evidence, questioning suspects or witnesses, all to identify the culprit. In true RPG fashion, you have to be careful about who you accuse of the crime and how you conduct the investigation. It’s even possible to convince people that you were somehow responsible. As to who actually committed the murder and why, well, that’ll be up to players to figure out.

The Outer Worlds: Murder on Eridanos will be available this coming Wednesday on March 17. The game is available on Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and Microsoft Windows.
