Moon Knight star Oscar Isaac knows which hero he wants to battle in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Speaking to CBR about his upcoming graphic novel Head Wounds: Sparrow, Isaac briefly pondered who he'd like Marc Spector to go head-to-head against in the MCU, eventually choosing an unconventional anti-hero. After briefly joking that Moon Knight should fight Popeye, the iconic animated sailor, Isaac eventually responds, "I don't know, man... Ghost Rider?" It's worth noting that the actor does not mention which incarnation of the Spirit of Vengeance he'd want to fight, with arguably the two most popular picks being either Johnny Blaze or Robbie Reyes.

While Isaac may have his eyes set on a Ghost Rider fight, Moon Knight will first need to return to the MCU. Following the conclusion of Season 1, fans have been clamoring for any kind of information regarding an official follow-up. Isaac has stoked the rumor mill in the past, appearing briefly in a video alongside Moon Knight director Mohamed Diab teasing viewers with his return to Cairo, a major location in the series.

Isaac has previously noted that while he's unsure of Marvel Studios' plans for Moon Knight, he's confident that his superhero will return. "All I can say is that it's not the last we've heard of the system that is Moon Knight," Isaac said. He followed this up a few weeks later by confirming that he has spoken to Marvel about another chapter in Marc Spector's onscreen story. "There have been some specific conversations [about Moon Knight Season 2]," he said. "They were pleasant. The spilling of the details is that there's no details. We don't know [if there will be a second season], but we're talking about it."

Diab has also stated that he'd be interested in further exploring Moon Knight's corner of the MCU, especially in relation to the brutal Jake Lockley, the character's third alter who appears in the series finale. "I want to see his world. Everyone is so intrigued about him and [I want to] see what happens in between those blinks and who he is and what does he love and who does he love. It's very interesting for me," Diab said.

Moon Knight premiered on Disney+ in early 2022 to plenty of praise from both fans and critics, many of whom spotlighted Isaac's layered performance as the show's standout achievement. Others enjoyed its "standalone" nature due to its lack of connections to the broader MCU beyond an occasional fleeting Easter egg.

Moon Knight is now streaming on Disney+. CBR's full Head Wounds: Sparrow interview will be published on Oct. 21.
