Ever since Ben Affleck announced that he was officially retiring the cape and cowl of Batman, fans have been eager to find out who will suit up as the Caped Crusader in Matt Reeves' upcoming solo Batman film.

For the past few months, rumors have been flying left and right about which actor is under consideration for the role. At one time, Armie Hammer was rumored to be a lock, but that turned out to be false. Then, a rumored shortlist of actors surfaced not too long ago, only to be rapidly shot down.

Now, we can remove another name from potential Batman actors: Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Triple Frontier actor, Oscar Isaac.

When asked by Metro News if there was any truth to the rumors that he would be playing the next Batman, Isaac answered: "No. I have only read it online like everyone else. I haven’t had any conversations about Batman, unfortunately, but I am sure it is going to be great. Matt Reeves is such a great director. Yeah, he can get my number."

Of course, there is always the chance that Isaac might be keeping things close to the chest, but it's likely that he's telling the truth and that he hasn't been approached by Warner Bros.

While there is still very little we know about Matt Reeves' Batman film, actor Ben Affleck did recently confirm that the movie would focus on a younger Bruce Wayne. "They're doing a kind of, I don't want to give away anything because they get...but they're doing a young version, a more starting-out version with a younger guy... I'm sure it will be great," the Justice League star said.

What's more, a report that recently surfaced stipulates that the film could be set in the '90s, something that would fall in line with the younger Bruce Wayne approach. While the movie's cast has yet to be announced, director Matt Reeves did reveal that he's hoping to begin production before the end of the year.
