While Wolverine/Logan has become known for sporting thick sideburns and hair flared on the sides, early designs of the character show him with a more conservative look.Shared by Marvel Executive Editor and SVP of Publishing Tom Brevoort, an original design for the unmasked version of Wolverine shows a strong-chinned man in a flannel with short hair. Making his first appearance in 1974's The Incredible Hulk #180, Wolverine has gone on to become one of the most popular comic book characters of all time. Created by Roy Thomas, Len Wein and John Romita Sr., the character has several interesting powers, including an enhanced healing factor and retractable claws. Wolverine has appeared in a number of Marvel films, animated TV shows, video games and comic book storylines.

Actor Hugh Jackman is well-known for his live-action movie portrayals of Wolverine, appearing in many X-Men related films as the character. Jackson's last portrayal as Wolverine was in 2017's Logan, though archive footage of Jackman's Logan was featured in 2018's Deadpool 2.

There is the possibility of an eventual appearance of Wolverine in a future Marvel Cinematic Universe film, though Jackman likely won't portray the character.
