Mark Waid is reinventing the original Teen Titans team in a new World's Finest spinoff, World's Finest: Teen Titans.

DC announced World's Finest: Teen Titans is launching in July 2023 from Waid and artist Emanuela Lupacchino. Spinning out of Waid and Dan Mora's Batman/Superman: World's Finest series, World's Finest: Teen Titans sees Robin/Dick Grayson lead the Teen Titans on a series of adventures throughout the DC Universe.

The publisher said of World's Finest: Teen Titans, "Led by Robin, the Boy Wonder, a new super-team has burst onto the scene—meet the Teen Titans, DC’s grooviest group full of super-teens with super-problems. When they’re not fighting alongside their Justice League mentors, they’re managing their image and cultivating the rabid fan base that helps them save the world…as, all the while, a danger from the shadows intends to tear these friends apart before they ever reach the big time. Before they were the Titans of the DCU, they were the Teen Titans, and you won’t want to miss this fresh take on their origins."

"I’ve had so much fun writing the Teen Titans in Batman/Superman: World’s Finest that DC asked for more, and I couldn’t be happier," said Waid. "Taking our cue from the main World’s Finest book, the series is set in the not-too-distant past, when Robin led the team—including Bumblebee and Mal Duncan—as they answered calls for help from kids worldwide and dealt with their celebrity status. The real fun for the wonderful Ema Lupacchino and me is revealing many surprising secrets about who each of the Titans really is. Even longtime readers will be stunned by these untold revelations."

The Titans Take Over the DCU in May 2023

In current DC continuity, the Justice League has officially put itself on hiatus following the events of Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths. Following their absence, Dick Grayson/Nightwing has stepped up to protect the planet alongside the Flash/Wally West, Donna Troy, Raven, Beast Boy, Starfire and Cyborg. The Titans are getting their own "Dawn of DC" series from writer Tom Taylor and artist Nicola Scott that officially launches on May 16, 2023, from DC.

Waid and Mora's Batman/Superman: World’s Finest series, meanwhile, currently sees Bruce Wayne/Batman blamed for the murder of the villainous Simon Stagg. The story continues on April 18, 2023, with Batman/Superman: World’s Finest #13. The synopsis for the issue reads, "BRUCE WAYNE…A MURDERER? Bruce Wayne’s billionaire rival Simon Stagg is dead. And Bruce Wayne is suspect number one! With their friend’s freedom and reputation on the line, Superman, Robin, and Metamorpho, the Element Man, join forces to exonerate the Dark Knight’s alter ego the best way they can: by finding Stagg’s real killer before they strike again!"

World's Finest: Teen Titans #1 features cover and variant cover art by Chris Samnee and additional variants by Lupacchino, Evan "Doc" Shaner, Jim Cheung and W. Scott Forbes. The issue releases on July 11, 2023, from DC.
