In the days since the passing of legendary comics creator Stan Lee, heartfelt tributes have been pouring in from colleagues in the comics industry and Hollywood. While the original six Avengers actors all made tributes to Lee on Twitter following the news of his passing, they're now honoring Lee's enduring legacy with a full-page magazine ad.
The full-page ad taken out by the original six Avengers appeared in today's issue (Nov. 14) of The Hollywood Reporter, along with five other full-page ads honoring Stan Lee. Signed by Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Robert Downey Jr., Jeremy Renner and Chris Evans, the tribute to Stan Lee is set against the logo of the Avengers.
The Avengers cast's message reads:
We acknowledge his creative contribution, the thousands of men and women it has long employed, the millions that will continue to be entertained, and above all, his inimitable wit, grace, and humility.
Stan, we love you, we will miss you, and we're grateful to represent a small part of your amazing legacy.
Other full-page tributes featured in the Nov. 14 issue of The Hollywood Reporter included a hand drawing of Stan Lee from The Walt Disney Company and Marvel, a tribute photo of Lee from 20th Century Fox, touching tributes from DC Comics and colleague Margaret Loesch and a heartbreaking Spider-Man tribute from Sony Pictures.
