None of the original cast of "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" will appear in the upcoming movie reboot, according to Walter Jones, who played Zack in the original series.
"It’s not likely," Jones said on the Audibly Exquisite podcast. "Unfortunately, we were not invited to be part of the film, which is confusing to me, but I’m excited about the film nevertheless."
The film will adapt the original "Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers" TV series and will see a new group of actors portray Jason, Trini, Kimberly, Zack and Billy. Several other original characters from the series will make it to the latest silver screen installment of the franchise, including Rita Repulsa, played by Elizabeth Banks, and Zordon, played by Bryan Cranston.
The movie is also reported to feature Alpha 5 and the Rangers' Zords, which ultimately combine to create the Megazord.
"Power Rangers" is produced by Lionsgate and directed by Dean Israelite. The reboot morphs into theaters on March 24, 2017.
