Fans hoping to see Christopher Nolan's upcoming biographical film, Oppenheimer, will be in for a lengthy watch as a new report claims the movie's runtime is even longer than The Dark Knight Rises.According to Puck, Oppenheimer clocks in at around three hours "depending on last-minute tinkers," according to the report. If that mark holds, it would comfortably surpass Nolan's epic science fiction flick Interstellar as his longest theatrical effort, with Interstellar boasting a runtime of 2 hours and 49 minutes. Despite The Dark Knight Rises and Interstellar keeping moviegoers in their seats for extended periods, they proved to be worth the price of admission. The Dark Knight Rises, which starred Christian Bale, grossed over 1.08 billion worldwide while the original Interstellar movie, featuring Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway, earned over $773 million at the box office.

Christopher Nolan's Next Movie

Oppenheimer features a star-studded of actors including Emily Blunt J. Robert's wife and biologist Katherine "Kitty" Oppenheimer, Matt Damon as Manhattan Project director Leslie Groves, former MCU star Robert Downey Jr. as U.S. Atomic Energy Commission chairman Lewis Strauss and current Marvel actor Florence Pugh as psychiatrist/physician Jean Tatlock. Universal dropped the official trailer for Oppenheimer last December, giving fans an up-close look at Murphy's portrayal of the title character. Murphy and Nolan have collaborated multiple times before, including The Dark Knight trilogy, where Murphy played classic Batman villain Jonathan Crane/Scarecrow. Furthermore, Murphy appeared in Nolan's 2017 World War II film, Dunkirk, as the Shivering Soldier.

Dunkirk was a big winner at the Oscars, receiving three Academy Awards while scoring Nolan Best Picture and Best Director nominations, setting a standard Oppenheimer may replicate as the fellow World War II blockbuster has some industry observers eyeing it as a potential award-season powerhouse. Nolan's movies have notched him five Oscar nods and six Golden Globe nominations, with The Dark Knight Rises winning 25 awards following its 2012 release.

Oppenheimer opens in theaters on July 21.
