Last week on Onyx Equinox, K'in ended up in hot water when he found himself swarmed by feral creatures in a swamp. Now, he and his team encounter more trouble in Tajin, as shown in a new, CBR-exclusive clip from Crunchyroll.
The clip picks up as Izel, Zyanya, Yun and K’in are approached by a man and his daughter. To greet him, Izel passed their axolotl, Meque, over to Yun. "We're so sorry. If you let us pass, we'll be on our way," Izel said, but the man gasped and cut him off, pointing at Izel's green eyes: "Your eyes! You're a beacon!" In response, the guards raised their weapons and moved closer.
Izel raised his hands, trying to calm the situation. "Please, you don't want us here," he pleaded. "And we don't want to be here." The man interrupted again, shouting, "You've defiled our most sacred site, and you bear the same energy tainting our late high priest's disappearance!"
"Late?" the man's daughter interjected, stepping forward and holding his wrist. "You said he was just missing!"
"They are the ones responsible! Restrain those foreigners now!" the man spat. He then told his daughter to be silent as he moved towards Izel's party. "You stand accused of trespassing," he announced, blaming Izel and his group for using a forbidden underworld relic, as well harming the priest.
"Wait!" Izel cried. "We're just trying to find these gates." Turning towards Yun and K'in, he urged, "Guys, show him." With that, the boys grabbed the ball and asked it to find the nearest gate. In response, the ball began to float and glow purple, then shot a beam of light straight up into the sky.
In addition to this clip, CBR can also reveal some exclusive stills from the series' sixth episode. These stills show the suspicious townsfolk that Izel and his allies will have to bargain with if they wish to complete their journey. The sixth episode will be released simultaneously with the remainder of Onyx Equinox Season 1's episodes, which will become available at 1 pm PT/4 pm ET today, Dec. 26.
