WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Only Murders in the Building Season 1 finale, "Open and Shut," now available on Hulu.

As Season 1 of Only Murders in the Building ends, the case of Tim Kono has been solved. It turns out he didn't commit suicide as initially thought at the Arconia. It was actually Jan who got angry in an affair that soured. However, while it seems like the crime of passion has been put to bed, there are lingering threads regarding Tim, as well as the podcasters, that set up an enticing Season 2.

Did Mabel Kill Bunny in Only Murders in the Building?

As Oliver and Charles celebrate solving the mystery, they get a mysterious text indicating they need to leave the hotel. They race to find Mabel, only to see her covered in blood with Bunny, the iron-fisted lead board member of the Arconia, dead. Mabel swears she didn't do it and Bunny fell onto her, but the cops bust in, suggesting it's a set up.

As such, someone needs to help crack the case as the three leads are taken to jail. Oscar could step up, especially as he has Detective Williams and the fan sleuths who helped out in Episode 8 to count on. It won't be easy, however, as many people didn't like Bunny, as she constantly snitched and got them close to eviction.

Tina Fey's Cinda Canning Might Play a Bigger Role

Cinda Canning was on site as the heroes got arrested and is plotting her own podcast, "Only Murderers in the Building." Flash-forwards proved it was quite successful during the course of the season, and seeing as she was jealous over how Mabel's team did, Cinda could turn out to be more than just a voice.

She knows the investigative game and how to cover up murders, so her team might even be responsible for the sinister activities. Ultimately, Cinda will be a huge nemesis for Oscar and the sleuths, especially as she's out in the open with access that could incriminate rather than exonerate them.

Mabel, Charles & Oliver Will Have Familial Issues

Mabel's in a romantic relationship with Oscar, so this will test their bond. More so, she'll have other family issues to sort through as her mom warned her this podcast would be her downfall. Her knitting tool was used to kill Bunny, suggesting Mabel's dark dreams might have a role to play. In addition, Oliver has patched things up with his son, Will, and gotten his dog, Winnie, back, but he hasn't rubbed folks the right way at the hotel. Thus, some might even be conspiring against him.

As for Charles, while his beloved Jan got carted off to prison, he did reconnect with Lucy, his almost-stepdaughter, so Season 2 can look at how he charts this relationship.

Tim Kono Still Has Loose Ends to Tie Up

Mabel mentioned things were still missing from Tim's case. For example, who left the note to warn Jan about her actions. It may be Jan had a secret accomplice or someone spying on her, as many folks hated the obnoxious Tim, not realizing he was trying to solve Zoe's case. This could also bring the Dimases and other black market jewelers back for revenge and Zoe's ring.

Ultimately, Mabel feels something's off, so once they can clear their name and get out from behind bars, maybe they'll figure out the rest. Bunny might even be linked to Tim's death, and a unique discovery may have gotten her killed, so all this will have to be addressed as both mysteries may end up being part of a bigger, unknown conspiracy.

All 10 episodes of Season 1 of Only Murders in the Building are available now on Hulu.
