The latest in a series of Oni Press announcements is a new 10th anniversary hardcover edition of "Elk's Run," the series that helped launched the writing career of Joshua Hale Fialkov. Illustrated by Noel Tuazon, the Harvey-nominated small-town horror series was self-published in its original run under "Horse and Buggy Productions."

"'Elk's Run' is the book that started my career and getting a chance to revisit it for this deluxe hardcover is a real gift," Fialkov is quoted in Oni's press release. "Having had so much success with Oni Press on 'The Bunker' and 'The Life After,' it made sense to bring 'Elk's Run' too. Plus, big secret time, it was the books Oni published that inspired me to make comics in the first place."

The "Elk's Run" anniversary hardcover is scheduled for release on Nov. 11.

Earlier this week, Oni also announced "Alabaster Shadows," a new graphic novel aimed at middle-grade readers from relative newcomers Matt Gardner and Rashad Doucet. Here's the description: "A gorgeous house, a two car garage, friendly neighbors. Everything's perfect in Alabaster Shadows... or so it seems. When Carter and his family move to the neighborhood, he begins to notice that something horrific lurks under the surface of this suburban paradise. Worse yet, his child-hating teacher is in on it! It's up to him and his friends to confront dark, Cthulhu-like terrors too frightening for adults to handle!" It's scheduled for release on Dec. 9.

Oni is also set to bring "Oyster War" to print, the Eisner-nominated webcomic by Ben Towle set in an alternate late-19th century US, where the economy runs on oysters.

"I couldn't be happier with the way Oni's bringing the 'Oyster War' print collection to life," Towle said in a statemenet. "Presentation was always in the back of my mind as I worked on the story. From the get-go I conceived of 'Oyster War' as a big, hardcover, European album-sized book with high-end production values -- and that's exactly what's going to wind up in readers' hands!"

It's been a busy week for Oni, who have spent the days leading up to Emerald City Comicon 2015 with a "March Madness"-themed series of announcements including a new open submission policy and the return of "Hopeless Savages." Based on Oni's promotional material, one announcement is still to come.
