Alice is heading down the rabbit hole once again in ABC's Once Upon a Time spinoff Once Upon a Time in Wonderland. A trailer for the upcoming series premiered online following network's upfront presentations in New York and shows that this new project from Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz will have a different feel than the series on which it is based.

As the trailer indicates, Alice finds herself placed in a madhouse by her father after her adventures traveling to Wonderland and beyond with a genie named Cyrus (Peter Gadiot). But after seemingly losing her love, Cyrus, to the Red Queen, Alice is ready to give her memories of Wonderland up. That's when the White Rabbit (voiced by John Lithgow) and the Knave of Hearts (Michael Socha) arrive to help her escape back to Wonderland with the promise that Cyrus is indeed still alive.

An interesting premise to be sure, as it looks like Once Upon a Time in Wonderland will be a mix of what made Once Upon a Time such a hit with a dash of American Horror Story: Asylum thrown in. ABC certainly feels like it has a success on its hands, as it's given the new show a promising Thursday time slot of 8 p.m. ET/PT. The series premieres in the fall.
