Venom writers Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner and penning a live-action One Punch Man film for Sony Pictures.

According to Variety, Sony is banking on One Punch Man becoming another major franchise for the studio. The film is being produced by Avi and Ari Arad through Arad Productions.

One Punch Man is a webcomic created by Japanese artist ONE in 2009 that follows Saitama, an apathetic superhero with the ability to defeat any foe with just a single punch. In 2012, the series received a proper manga adaptation and the next year, it joined Viz Media's Weekly Shonen Jump, allowing the title to reach North American audiences.

In 2015, One Punch Man received an anime adaptation from Madhouse, with an English dub arriving the following year.

Other adaptations include the video game One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows, which released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in February and the mobile game One Punch Man: Road to Hero, which released for iOS and Android in August 2019.

At the time of this writing, Sony's One Punch Man film has no director, cast or planned release date.
