The following contains spoilers for One-Punch Man Chapter 165, "1.0," by One, Yusuke Murata, John Werry and James Gaubatz, available in English via Viz Media.

Seeing anime and manga main characters destroy everything in their path as they defeat world-threatening evil offers good chaotic entertainment. But at the moment they become so immensely strong, they themselves become a threat to the world they're protecting. When One-Punch Man encountered this problem in its latest chapter, it follows the tried and tested approach Dragon Ball has been using for years.

Dragon Ball has a catalog of characters who can single-handedly destroy a planet, though half of them fortunately belong to either the good or neutral side. However, that doesn't change the fact that the collateral damage to the two sides' fight can be highly catastrophic. In fact, Son Goku and his friends have already destroyed numerous celestial bodies, yet the Earth mostly escapes unscathed. The series uses a simple trick to avoid destroying the heroes' beloved planet.

Self-destructing cell in Dragon Ball

When a fight in Dragon Ball gets a bit hairy, Goku will often transport the combatants to another, barren celestial body, allowing him to fight without restraint. Although that saves the planet they are trying to defend, the same could not be said for their destination. Interestingly, even poor King Kai's quaint planet falls victim to this kind of operation -- and something similar has happened in One-Punch Man.

Garo and Saitama's face-off had only grown more intense as it went on. The moment God granted Garo his divine powers, the Hero Hunter transformed into a being that could pose a threat to Saitama. He dished out nuclear attacks and copied one destructive technique after another. It came to a point where Garo acquired Mode Saitama, which let him execute one of the Bald Cape's Killer Moves. Needless to say, the clash between the two Killer Moves was so fierce that it could have destroyed the Earth.

destroyed Jupiter's Moon in One-Punch Man

The destructive energy was too much for Blast to handle alone, prompting his companions to appear and give him a hand. They used their ability in concert and blasted the two mighty figures into one of Jupiter's moons. Just like Goku, Saitama fought without regard after realizing the world was no longer in danger.

He first unleashed another technique under his Killer Move: Serious Series -- Serious Table Flip. By inserting one hand into the soil and flipping it, he destroyed the entirety of the moon's crust and sent it into the atmosphere. He then used its debris as a foothold to unleash his other Killer Move.

With its crust already destroyed and the next round just starting, it's fairly safe to assume that whichever moon Garo and Saitama landed on will be suffering the same fate as the other planets Goku and his opponents have fought on. There is also a good possibility that fans of One-Punch Man will be seeing more of these outer space battles, since Gods may be the series' next villains.
