One-Punch Man is full of quirky characters with unique abilities, some more...respectable than others. Although main protagonist Saitama is renowned for being extremely strong, the series is full of impressively powerful characters. In fact, One-Punch Man Season 2 introduced another such character in Bomb, the older brother of series regular Bang, also known as the elderly hero "Silver Fang." Bomb has shown himself to be an interesting addition to the cast, and sets himself up for some potential intrigue down the line.

Who Is Bomb?

Bomb is the elder brother of Bang - aka Silver Fang, an elderly S-class hero. Bomb is one of the greatest Martial Art Masters in the world of One-Punch Man and the proud owner of a martial arts school. Bomb invented the "Whirlwind Iron Cutting Fist," his signature move which he passes on to his students.

Unlike his brother, Bomb isn't a professional hero, preferring a more relaxed life of teaching and training. In fact, he thinks that Silver Fang ought to retire and enjoy his old age, and leave saving the world to the younger generation. Despite this, Bomb never hesitates to help his brother to fight some of the city's more dangerous threats.

How Powerful Is He?

Bomb's fighting style allows him to shred opponents into pieces just with his bare hands, moving so fast that his opponents don't know their body has been split until they're already in pieces. This feat is mainly achieved through his signature move, the "Whirlwind Iron Cutting Fist." He uses this martial art skill to manipulate the air, forming a razor-sharp spike that can cut through nearly anything. But, he possesses an even stronger technique known as the "Whirlwind Water Stream Roaring Aura Sky Ripping Fist," a finishing technique he uses against tenacious opponents by joining forces with Bang.

Bomb possesses immense strength, speed and durability although he often expresses his grief about his body growing weaker due to his old age. However, it's revealed that he's actually more powerful than his younger brother, who is a Rank 3 S-class hero. Bomb once said that if he was 60 years younger, he could handle the injuries Garou - Bang's one-time student - suffered from at the time while fighting several opponents at once. This makes one wonder about the type of hero Bomb would be, if he was in the Hero Association or interested in professional heroism at all.

Role in the Series

Bomb is among the few aware of Saitama's power, and he ended up joining the Saitama Group alongside the high-ranking heroes Genos, Fubuki, Silver Fang and King. On particularly dangerous missions, Bang brings Bomb to fight alongside him, such as during the Monster Association War. It was during this arc that we gained a glimpse of their hero-duo potential, as they combined their martial arts powers together for a dangerous known as the "Whirlwind Water Stream: Cross Fang Dragon Slayer Fist." This technique was powerful enough to break apart the body of Elder Centipede and showed the kind of strength Bomb is capable of.

A similar instance occurred during his fight alongside Fubuki and Bang against Overgrown Rover. Fubuki used her psychic powers to temporarily enhance Bomb and Bang's bodies to take away any and all physical pain. With a fully functional, youthful body, Bomb was able to fight faster and harder than ever before, combining his attack with Bang's to create a big blast that destroyed Overgrown Rover. If that was what he could do with psychic enhancements, one has to wonder what Bomb was like in the prime of his youth.

Although he's more than qualified for hero work, Bomb opted against joining his brother in the Hero Association. Despite this choice, however, Bomb still remains that strongest civilian seen thus far in the series.
