An up-and-coming cosplayer has brought One Piece's Yamato, the son of Kaido of the Beasts, to life.

A picture of the Oni Princess cosplay was uploaded on Reddit by its creator, Leo, who self-identifies as a new cosplayer. The outfit showcases many aspects of the character's design, including his red horns and large purple and white nio-dasuki. The only other cosplay currently featured on Leo's Reddit account is an equally impressive rendition of Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji from Koyoharu Gotouge's Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.

Shueisha Weekly Shōnen Jump published Eiichiro Oda's iconic manga One Piece in 1997, and almost thirty years later, the series is finally entering its concluding story arc. The narrative follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy, a young pirate captain with a rubber body and a dream to become the next King of the Pirates, and his wacky crew, which includes a directionally-challenged swordsman and an archeologist who can grow additional limbs, as they travel the Grand Line in search for the titular hidden treasure. With over 516 million copies sold around the world, One Piece is the undisputed best-selling manga of all time.

Toei Animation's adaptation of One Piece made its debut in 1999 and has produced well-over 1,000 individual episodes. It stars Mayumi Tanaka (Dragon Ball Super) as Luffy, Kazuya Nakai (That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime) as Roronoa Zoro, Yuriko Yamaguchi (Death Parade) as Nico Robin and Saori Hayami (Fate/Grand Order -Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia-) as Yamato.

He becomes one of the Straw Hat Pirates' major allies, working alongside Luffy and his crew to defeat Kaido. While rumors initially spread that Yamato would officially become a member of the Straw Hat Pirates at the conclusion of the Wano Country story arc, he ultimately decided not to board the Thousand Sunny and remained behind.
