West Blue is one of the five biggest oceans in the Blue Sea. It comprises a bunch of little islands in a vast ocean that touches the Red Line. Ever since the Great Age of Pirates began, West Blue has become home to several powerful pirates, some of which are extremely important to the story.
Even before the Great Pirate Era, this ocean has seen some iconic pirate figures emerge and is also known to have a strong Underworld scene, making it one of the most fearsome seas in the One Piece world.
10 Perona: Turns Anyone Who Touches Her Hollow Into A Negative Person
Perona was once a member of the Thriller Bark Pirates. At a very young age, she was sought out by Moria himself and was thus raised by him. Perona later joined forces with Mihawk at Kuraigana Island right until the moment when the Shichibukai system was dissolved.
In terms of strength, she is quite impressive and has the power of the Horo Horo no Mi, which allows her to turn anyone who touches her hollow into a negative person.
9 Brook: Has Access To Powers Of The Dead
Also known as Soul King, Brook is a member of the Straw Hat Pirates and has a bounty of 83 million Berries on his head. With the powers of the Yomi Yomi no Mi, Brook was able to revive after dying and also gained access to the powers of the dead.
He may be a skeleton, however, he is quite a ferocious swordsman and after his two-year training, he can now summon the cold of the underworld.
8 Gecko Moria: Controls Shadows At Will
Once a ferocious pirate, Gecko Moria is one of the characters who set out to sea shortly after the death of the Pirate King, Gol D. Roger. He made quite a name for himself and was even a rival to Kaido himself. However, after losing to Kaido in the New World, Moria went back to Paradise and got significantly weaker.
He has the powers of the Kage Kage no Mi, which gives him the ability to control shadows at will. With its usage, Moria created the Thriller Bark Pirates and ruled over the Florian Triangle.
7 Don Chinjao: User Of All Haki Types
Chinjao was once a legendary pirate with a bounty of 500 million Berries on his head. He is known to have clashed against the likes of Garp several times in the past, showing that he was truly a force to be reckoned with in his prime.
With time, however, Chinjao got significantly weaker and during the Dressrosa arc, he lost to Luffy, and later to Lao G. Chinjao is still a user of all the Haki types, making him one of the few to possess this power.
6 Don Sai: Possesses Great Control Over Armament Haki
Don Sai is the son of Don Chinjao and the current leader of Kano Kingdom's Happo Navy. He's also the Captain of the Third Ship of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet. Sai is an incredibly powerful character who possesses great control over Armament Haki.
His Drill Dragon Nail was strong enough to beat Lao G in a single hit and even broke the plateau that they were fighting on. Undoubtedly, he's one of the most powerful from the West Blue.
5 Nico Robin: Produces Any Part Of Her Body Within A Certain Range
A member of the Straw Hat Pirates, Nico Robin hails from Ohara, which once existed in the West Blue. After being found out for studying Poneglyphs, this island was erased off the face of the earth by the World Government's Buster Call.
Robin was the only survivor and she eventually joined the Straw Hat Pirates. In terms of combat, Robin is, without a doubt, one of the strongest in the crew, thanks to the powers of the Hana Hana no Mi, with which she can produce any part of her body within a certain range.
4 Morley: Pushes The Ground Freely As If It Were Clay
Known to be a member of the Revolutionary Army, Morley commands the West forces of the group and hails from the sea himself. For quite a while, he was imprisoned in Impel Down but he successfully escaped using his Devil Fruit powers.
Morley is a Giant and thus has tremendous strength up his sleeve, however, more importantly, he has the powers of the Oshi Oshi no Mi, allowing him to push the ground freely as if it were made of clay.
3 Capone Bege: Infamous Leader Of The Fire Tank Pirates
A member of the Worst Generation, Capone 'Gang' Bege is an infamous pirate with a bounty of 350 million Berries on his head. He leads the Fire Tank Pirates and is currently in the New World.
Bege served as a Rook in the Big Mom Pirates until quite recently and then attempted to murder the Yonko. With the power of the Shiro Shiro no Mi, he's quite difficult to deal with for most people.
2 Diamond Jozu: Turns His Body Into Diamond
One of the most powerful pirates in the series, Diamond Jozu is the former Third Division Commander of the Whitebeard Pirates. He was present in the Paramount War, where he took on Admiral Aokiji and matched him in battle for quite a while.
Jozu has the power of the Kira Kira no Mi, allowing him to turn his body into diamond. He possesses tremendous physical strength even made Aokiji bleed with just one hit.
1 Shanks: Has An Insane Bounty Of 4,048,900,000 Berries
The strongest known pirate to hail from the West Blue is Shanks, without a doubt. He once served as an apprentice on the ship of the Pirate King, Gol D. Roger. Later, he became the captain of the Red Hair Pirates and became famous for fighting legendary duels with Mihawk.
Six years before the current storyline, Shanks became one of the Yonko and continues to grow in power. He has a bounty of 4,048,900,000 Berries on his head, which just goes to show how fearsome he truly is.
