Kudos to Oda for creatively designing some of the most interesting characters in the anime verse. His masterpiece, One Piece, features an amazing cast that functions as the lifeblood of the series. It’s highly unlikely for any competitors to exist with that regard; the quality and quantity of the One Piece characters blatantly discourages that.
The Seven Warlords of the Sea is a group of (mostly) highly adept individuals who heavily contributed to the immense success of the series. Depending on the whims of the narrative, they can be villains at times or allies at other times. But now with the organization’s disbandment, it’s unknown where the future lies for these pirates. That being said, now we rank them accordingly to how well-received they are, all 11 of them.
11 Gecko Moria
Plenty of villains have a redeemable side to them. It acts as a backdoor in case things go left. Moria, however, possesses no redeemable qualities whatsoever. There’s really nothing to like about this man except for his zombies if that was your thing.
To make matters worse, Moria puts absolutely no effort into making himself a bit more likable as a villain. He is lazy, overly reliant on his devil fruit, and just outright bland.
10 Edward Weevil
So far, Edward Weevil has done nothing to paint him in a likable light. Contrarily, he has done some deeds that make him even less likable. Furthermore, he doesn’t seem like the sort of character to change for the good all of a sudden.
Frankly, the main culprit behind Weevil scoring this low on the list is his unbearable mother. Between the two, she easily takes the trophy with regard to being the most annoying.
9 Blackbeard
Blackbeard has stirred the ire of fellow characters and fans alike. He, similar to Moria, possesses no redeemable qualities as well. In fact, if it weren’t for the fact that Blackbeard was an excellent villain, he would’ve scored lower than Moria.
So far, no character has even come close to out-pirating Blackbeard. He is the closest to real-life pirates than any other character in this pirate-oriented series.
8 Crocodile
The grand villain of the Alabasta Saga is obviously not a likable character. But with that in mind, he does hold some quirks that the fans find particularly intriguing. His final boss vibes and badass persona makes him the more likable.
In addition to that, Crocodile’s mysterious backstory does a good job directing the fans’ attention from all the heinous crimes he previously committed.
7 Bartholomew Kuma
As interesting as a character he is, Kuma is just too deep in the sea of mystery. He pops out of seemingly nowhere, proceeds to trigger a random plot transition, and vanishes again.
We do indeed feel grateful towards him, but he feels more like a plot tool rather than an actual character. Hopefully, we will get to explore the depth of Kuma’s character later down the line.
6 Donquixote Doflamingo
It’s so easy to make fans despise a villain; convincing them to like an obvious mash-up of pure malice is where the real challenge lies. And Oda pulled the latter feat rather spectacularly when he introduced Donquixote Doflamingo, arguably, the best villain in One Piece.
No one can name a single good deed performed by Doflamingo. And even if he did do good, chances are, he did so with malicious intent. Yet in spite of all that, fans just can’t get enough of this flamboyant evil incarnate.
5 Dracule Mihawk
There’s a vague line separating a keen interest from outright liking. Mihawk always was a character hidden in layers upon layers of mystery, and that naturally garnered the overwhelming interest of fans.
That aside, just Mihawk's striking character design is enough to secure him a high mention in this list. There’s hardly any other character design that stands out as much as his.
4 Jinbei
The Knight of the Sea, Jinbei, proved his express loyalty to Luffy time after time again. We can safely say that without his intervention, the Straw Hats would’ve met their ends at least a handful of times.
Accordingly, his high position on this list is very much justified. Very few characters in One Piece enjoy as much fan-support as Jinbei does.
3 Buggy The Clown
Buggy The Clown, also known as Buggy D. Clown among the highly cultured, is the only clown who’s guaranteed to make you laugh. His hilarious antics, for the lack of a better descriptive, are beyond entertaining.
The best characters are undeniably the ones who bring the best out of those surrounding them. Though he has his negative qualities, they are not enough to deter the fans from absolutely worshipping Buggy.
2 Boa Hancock
Boa Hancock made a swift and almost shocking transition from an aloof, overly egotistical woman to a lovestruck maiden. Her beauty aside, just her occasional persona switches and hilarious dynamics with Luffy earns her a fan-favorite spot.
Unfortunately, her screentime is far from enough to satisfy the fans’ needs. Hopefully, she gets the attention she deserves as the series progresses.
1 Trafalgar Law
There’s something about Law that keeps him in the limelight. Maybe it’s his overall badass persona, or perhaps his stylish hat. The fact of the matter is, Law is liked by all.
It’s not even a subject of argument at this point, it’s a solid fact dictated by the One Piece community. No other character who held the Warlord title can claim this spot, it was tailor-made for Law.
