The Wano Country arc is quite easily the biggest One Piece arc to date and it is one part of the story that fans have been waiting for.

One Piece finally entered the Wano Country arc around two years ago and since then, fans have got the experience some of the very best stuff from Oda. This arc has lived up to all the expectations and can very well be considered as the best in the series already, however, there are also certain aspects that need to be improved in order for it to be the undisputed King of One Piece arcs.

10 The Best: Build-up

Trafalgar D. Water Law on Punk Hazard in One Piece

The Wano Country arc was first teased back during the Thriller Bark arc, which dates back to over a decade ago. The proper buildup for this arc started with Punk Hazard, where the Straw Hat Pirates met with Samurai of Wano Kin'emon and Momonosuke.

The Strawhat and Heart alliance was formed during this arc as well, and Kaido was identified as the target. When it comes to build-up, no One Piece arc even comes close to what the fans have witnessed with Wano.

9 Needs To Do Better: Fights

One Piece Sanji and Page One

If there's one thing that the Wano Country arc has been lacking in so far, it's the fights. Over the course of three acts, fans have only got to witness some skirmishes in the arc which, while good, could've been expanded upon a little further.

In terms of fights, the Wano Country arc needs to step up. However, the majority of them will come with the Onigashima War and that's why most fans aren't bothered.

8 The Best: Luffy Vs Two Yonko

Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates are up against not just Kaido but also Big Mom. This is, undoubtedly, the biggest war in One Piece so far that the fans will witness. Furthermore, Luffy is central to it.

The Summit War was massive as well, however, Luffy was hardly a threat back then and he couldn't protect those close to him because he was weak. This time, things are very different.

7 Needs To Do Better: Straw Hat Screentime

The Straw Hat Pirates have barely ever been seen working together, especially after the time-skip of One Piece. The crew has split up multiple times because of how massive it has gotten and for Oda, doing all of them justice in this one arc is quite a challenge.

So far, things have been going smoothly, however, it still isn't quite like Enies Lobby yet, where every Straw Hat got to shine properly.

6 The Best: Oden's Flashback

Kozuki Oden One Piece

Eiichiro Oda delivered what could be called the best flashback in the entirety of One Piece in Oden's story. Not only did this give fans information on Wano Country and how it operated long ago but it also gave everyone a glimpse of the Rocks Pirates, Whitebeard, Roger, and most importantly, the Final Island, Laugh Tale.

Oden's battle with Kaido was remarkable and the Legendary Hour was nothing short of mind-blowing. Everything about Wano Country and its history stands out as the best in One Piece so far.

5 Needs To Do Better: Orochi's Death

During One Piece, Orochi surrounds Komurasaki with his multiple snake heads

Kurozumi Orochi took over the reins to Wano Country back when Oden was journeying the seas with Roger. He pulled the country into an era of darkness which has been described as "Long Winter" by the author of the story.

Recently, Orochi was killed off by Kaido; however, some believe that those who wanted to avenge Oden should've done the deed. Of course, all hope isn't lost yet as Orochi could very well have survived. If true, then Kin'emon, Hiyori, Zoro, and everyone else who deserves to kill him have the chance to do so again.

4 The Best: War

Wano country- One Piece

One Piece's biggest war to date in the Great Pirate Era was the Summit War that took place shortly before the time-skip. However, as Trafalgar Law put it in Punk Hazard, that war was just the beginning, and a new era with an unstoppable swell is coming.

The war of Wano will, undoubtedly, be the biggest in the story to date. It will also set the foundation for the Great War that is to come very soon after it.

3 Needs To Do Better: Expand The War

Luffy in Marineford

Marineford was, without any question, an incredible arc. However, an argument can be made that the clashes that everyone got to witness during this arc could have been handled better and expanded upon.

Simply put, Marineford was a bit of a mess where no fight got any proper attention. With Wano, fans hope that Oda doesn't do something similar, especially since the scale of this war is even bigger than Marineford.

2 The Best: Hint The One Piece

As has been confirmed before, the end to the Wano Country arc will give the fans a hint about what the One Piece treasure is. The treasure will, of course, not be revealed until Luffy reaches Laugh Tale, however, it will certainly be hinted once the Wano Country arc ends.

With that in mind, Wano is, unquestionably, going to end as one of the greatest arcs in the entire story, if not the greatest.

1 Needs To Do Better: Killing Off The Villain

Kaido and his Mythical Zoan form, Azure Dragon, in One Piece

Eiichiro Oda doesn't like to kill off his characters. However, he does it when it is absolutely necessary. With Kaido, it feels like his death is needed because he is the strongest and thus needs a challenge.

Although how Kaido will die isn't known yet, fans hope that it is something that rivals Whitebeard's death from Marineford and maybe even surpasses that. Only then can Wano be called the best arc of One Piece.
