The Grand Line contains countless pirates and outlaws, but among their ranks, none are more promising than the eleven Supernovas. This group of rookies represents the swell of pirates that are emerging thanks to One Piece's recent Golden Age of piracy. The Supernovas' 11 members come from nine different crews, and all of them command bounties of 100 million berries or more.

As expected of such a notorious group of pirates, the 11 Supernovas are some of the most powerful individuals in all of One Piece. The series has largely revolved around their actions since their introduction during the Saobody Archipelago arc, leading many fans to wonder the inevitable question: which of them is the strongest?

Updated on April 19, 2023 by Kennedy King: The Raid on Onigashima changed the landscape of One Piece as much as any single battle in the entire series, and many of the 11 Supernovas played a major role in its outcome. Now, several of its members are legitimately Emperor of the Sea-level candidates, making the group's hierarchy more significant than ever before.

The following contains spoilers for One Piece's Wano Country arc!

11 Capone Bege

Capone Bege is the captain of the Firetank Pirates and once served as a subordinate of Charlotte Linlin. Although Bege is known more for his work in the criminal underworld than on the battlefield, he's still a handful for any normal pirate crew.

Bege uses the Castle-Castle Fruit, which allows him to turn his body into a moving fortress that's capable of taking some serious damage. He tanked a hit from Big Mom while in his Devil Fruit form during the Whole Cake Island arc, so his bounty of 350 million berries is clearly well-deserved.

10 Jewelry Bonney

Jewelry Bonney is the captain of the Bonney Pirates, and when she first appeared during the Sabaody Archipelago arc, her bounty was an impressive 140 million berries. Over the two-year timeskip, Jewelry's bounty increased, currently sitting at just over 300 million.

Bonney possesses the powers of an unnamed Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that lets her manipulate her age, along with anybody she touches at will. She has yet to play a major role in an on-screen conflict, but given the potential of her aging ability, it's obvious why she is part of the Supernovas.

9 Scratchmen Apoo

Arguably the most mysterious of the 11 Supernovas, Scratchmen Apoo is the captain of the On Air Pirates. With the powers of his Tone-Tone Fruit, Apoo can use music to hurt others, as seen when he managed to land a hit on Marine Admiral Kizaru at Sabaody Archipelago.

Despite his crafty nature, Scratchmen Apoo is not necessarily the biggest threat in one-on-one combat. He largely relies on opportunism and battle savvy to win his fights, so he would likely fall short against most of his Supernova peers.

8 Basil Hawkins

Basil Hawkins functioned as the captain of the Hawkins Pirates before joining up as one of the members of Kaido's crew. Much of Hawkins' strength comes from his Devil Fruit—known as the Wara Wara no Mi—which allows him to manipulate and create straw at will. In addition, he can create straw voodoo dolls that inflict damage upon their target.

Basil Hawkins briefly clashed against Roronoa Zoro during Wano and managed to injure the Straw Hat swordsman in the midst of battle. However, he was bitterly defeated by both Trafalgar D. Law and Killer, firmly placing him on the lower end of the 11 Supernovas.

7 X-Drake

X-Drake is a former Rear Admiral of the Marines and captain of the Drake Pirates. He's also a secret undercover Marine who worked as part of SWORD during his time as part of Kaido's Beast Pirates. His Ancient Zoan-type Devil Fruit allows him to transform into an Allosaurus, vastly elevating his physical abilities in combat.

During the Wano Country arc, X Drake repeatedly demonstrated that he was one of the Raid on Onigashima's most capable combatants. He survived long enough to clash with numerous members on both sides of the conflict, and although his current status is unknown, it's hard to imagine that he won't reemerge in the near future.

6 Killer

Killer, alongside Roronoa Zoro, is one of two Supernovas to serve as direct subordinates to other members of the group. The former functions as the second-in-command of the Kid pirates, but after his defeat of Basil Hawkins, his character is stronger than ever.

At Wano Country, a severely weakened Killer also clashed against Roronoa Zoro and managed to give him a nasty wound. Although he's clearly not on the same level as the Three Sword Style user, only the World Government's best fighters would stand a chance of claiming the bounty on his head.

5 Urouge

Also known as the "Mad Monk," Urouge is the captain of the Fallen Monk Pirates. He arrived at Sabaody Archipelago with a bounty of 108 million berries, which, although the lowest, is still very impressive. Since then, Urouge has grown significantly stronger, gaining enough power to take down one of Big Mom's best combatants, Charlotte Snack.

Charlotte Snack's bounty is 600 million berries, so Urouge is clearly no pushover. While he lost his fight against Charlotte Cracker, it's clear that he's still a force to be reckoned with.

4 Roronoa Zoro

Zoro wounded with his shirt torn in One Piece

Roronoa Zoro, the right hand of Monkey D. Luffy, is quite possibly the strongest subordinate of any pirate crew in the New World. His goal of becoming the World's Strongest Swordsman is closer than ever following his defeat of King the Conflagration, and although his bounty isn't as lofty as the show's strongest characters, his strikes are even dangerous to the likes of Kaido.

Known for his unique Three Sword Style, Zoro currently commands a bounty worth north of one billion berries. Eventually, the former pirate hunter will likely square off against Dracule Mihawk, at which point his growth since the beginning of One Piece will become painfully clear—for better or worse.

3 Eustass Kid

Eustass Kid, the leader of the Kid Pirates, is perhaps the most destructive member of the 11 Supernovas. Before the timeskip, Kid boasted the highest bounty among all the Supernovas—including Monkey D. Luffy. Since then, the price on his head has climbed to three billion berries, making him one of the most-wanted individuals in the entire series.

As the wielder of the Magnet-Magnet Fruit, Kid possesses magnetic powers that allow him to perform a variety of different attacks. It was awakened during the fight with Charlotte Linlin, after which its powers proved vital to her defeat. Should he ever master this or his mostly dormant Conqueror's Haki, he could challenge almost any character in a one-on-one battle.

2 Trafalgar D. Water Law

Trafalgar D. Water Law hails from the North Blue and plays a major role during several One Piece arcs post-timeskip. His alliance with the Straw Hat Pirates pits him up against Donquixote Doflamingo and Charlotte Linlin, the latter of whom he defeats alongside Eustass Kidd.

Law's Devil Fruit, the Ope Ope no Mi, grants him complete physical dominion over physical matter in his immediate area. This allows the "Surgeon of Death" to perform unbelievable feats capable of taking down One Piece's most durable characters, as evidenced in his battle against Big Mom.

1 Monkey D. Luffy

Monkey D. Luffy, the protagonist of One Piece and captain of the Straw Hat Pirates, is by far the most well-known member of the 11 Supernovas. His rapid ascent has sent waves throughout the Grand Line since the first episode of the series, and now that he is firmly an Emperor of the Sea, it's clear that the reign of Monkey D. Luffy has begun.

Luffy's battle against Kaido pushed his character to new heights, and with his new Gear 5 transformation and Conqueror's Haki mastery, he can go toe-to-toe with One Piece's strongest characters. Only time will tell how powerful he becomes by the end of the series, but one thing is painfully clear: none of the other Supernovas hold a candle to his abilities.
