One Piece is filled with fascinating abilities such as Devil Fruits and Haki. While Devil Fruit powers are acquired, Haki is a capacity everyone has, despite only a few managing to awaken it.

Haki is classified into three types: Observation Haki, which is derived from spiritual energy and primarily helps sense others' presence; Armament Haki, which manifests a person's spirit; and lastly, Conqueror's Haki, which only a few have awakened. People who exhibit the might of a King are born with this Haki type.

Updated on January 4th, 2022 by Olivia Subero: With the introduction of Yamato, the list of strong Haki users has shifted. As One Piece progresses to its intense boss battle with Kaido, Haki users will elevate to newer heights. This list has also been updated to fix some out-of-date information and address a few other minor errors.

11 Monkey D. Luffy Is Trained In The Ways Of Haki

One Piece's Luffy Conquerors Haki

As the series' protagonist, it's hardly a surprise that Luffy can use Haki. He was trained by Silvers Rayleigh during the time skip and learned all three Haki types. In his fight against Katakuri, Luffy even managed to awaken the ability to see into the future with his Observation Haki.

His progress doesn't stop there. Luffy has also learned an advanced form of Armament Haki called "internal destruction," which allows a user to destroy an object from the inside. He demonstrates this ability a couple of times in Wano Country when breaking apart an exploding collar and Yamato's handcuffs.

10 Yamato Has A Few Tricks Up Her Sleeve

Recently introduced as Kaido's son, Yamato has shown some impressive fighting abilities of her own. She can use all three Haki and has adopted Kaido's beast-like appearance and fighting abilities.

Like her father, Yamato can infuse her club with Haki, making it an extension of her body and a much more fearsome weapon. There's still a lot about Yamato fans aren't privy to, and she may pose a more significant threat to Kaido than he believes.

9 Charlotte Katakuri Can See Into The Future

Charlotte Katakuri is Big Mom's right-hand man and her most influential Sweet Commander. He has a bounty of over one billion berries and is proficient in all three Haki types. Katakuri is feared throughout the New World as a deadly pirate who's trained his Observation Haki to such an extent that he can see slightly ahead into the future.

Out of all his battles, he's only lost once. The defeat came at the hands of Monkey D. Luffy at Whole Cake Island. While the Straw Hat did triumph over the other individual, Katakuri's Armament and Observation Haki types are much more substantial.

8 Kozuki Oden Is A Respected Pirate

Kozuki Oden is the daimyō of the Kuri region of Wano Country. A strong and venerable man, he earned the respect of Whitebeard, Roger, and even Red-Haired Shanks. Oden is a tremendous swordsman and his skills in Armament Haki are top-notch.

His strength is such that with a blast of Haki through his sword, Enma, he dealt a deadly wound to the indestructible Kaido. To date, it's the only wound Kaido has ever suffered. Average Haki users could only dream of achieving such a feat. While Oden's full power remains shrouded in mystery, it's a known fact that his Haki is stellar.

7 Admiral Sakazuki Is An Enemy To Be Taken Seriously

Fleet Admiral Sakazuki Speaking To The 5 Elders

Sakazuki, also known as "Akainu," is the Marines' current Fleet Admiral. He's an absolute monster when it comes to fighting, a lot of which has to do with his Haki. While he may not possess the Conqueror's Haki, his proficiency in the other two types is incredible.

Sakazuki's Armament Haki is durable enough to take hits from Whitebeard, the strongest man in One Piece. It's also implied that he can see the future like Katakuri. Consequently, Sakazuki is a proficient Haki user and a tenacious enemy to come across.

6 Monkey D. Garp Is Luffy's Grandfather

Luffy's grandfather, Monkey D. Garp, is one of the strongest figures in the entire series. Garp's powers are immense and famous for cornering Gol D. Roger and putting an end to the Rocks Pirates. What's ridiculous is how all of it is based on his Haki.

Garp's Armament Haki is of the highest caliber. He defeated the infamous pirate Don Chinjao with just one enhanced punch. Garp's ability to utilize his Haki is so extreme that he used to destroy mountains for training. His rank in the Marines doesn't do his powers justice.

5 Silvers Rayleigh Takes His Haki To The Next Level

Also known as the "Dark King," Silvers Rayleigh was the first mate of the Roger Pirates. Being the man who trained Luffy in the ways of Haki, it's no surprise that his own is of the highest order. In fact, Rayleigh can use all three types.

He doesn't simply know the basics of Haki. Instead, years of battle experience have taken his prowess to the next level. Rayleigh utilizes Armament Haki to its absolute limits. He's the only known person capable of using an advanced version of Haki in One Piece, which allows him to destroy things from the inside. It's no wonder the Navy sees him as a threat despite his old age.

4 Kaido Is The Strongest Creature In One Piece

Renowned as the strongest creature in the world of One Piece, Kaido is an adept user of Haki, possessing all three types. However, a beast such as him specializes in Armament Haki.

He shows this skill when fighting Luffy for the first time in Wano Country. The battle ends with one swing of Kaido's Haki-clad club. A monster who's capable of singlehandedly defeating a pirate worth 1.5 billion berries certainly possesses top-tier Haki, without a doubt.

3 Big Mom Manipulates Souls

The Queen of Totland, Big Mom, is one of the Four Emperors of the Sea and thus one of the strongest characters in One Piece. The character's primary ability is her devil fruit, which allows her to manipulate souls. However, her mastery of Haki can't be underestimated.

She can use all three Haki types, hence her status and fearsome fighting abilities. Oda made sure to emphasize this proficiency during her clash with Luffy, swatting him away like he wasn't even a threat.

2 Shanks Has Been Praised By Whitebeard

Shanks is the captain of the Red Hair Pirates and one of the most revered pirates on the Grand Line. He became one of the Four Emperors of the Sea about six years ago, but it's not a shock he's proficient in all three Haki types, specializing in Conqueror's Haki. Since he's not a Devil Fruit user, his high battle prowess is because of these abilities.

Shanks' Haki has been praised by former Emperor of the Sea, Whitebeard, which is a testament to his abilities. Even while trying his best to suppress his capabilities, he deals a lot of physical damage, which is an astounding feat.

1 Whitebeard Is The Greatest Pirate Of All Time

As the greatest pirate of all time and someone who held the title, "Strongest Man in the World," Whitebeard tops this list. He started as a member of Rocks Pirates, then went on to form his own crew and dominate the Grand Line for years. His achievements are a result of his extraordinary hard work and skill.

Of course, this includes his stellar Haki. Whitebeard's proficiency is apparent when all three Navy Admirals had to combine their Haki to deflect just one of his attacks. When severe, he defeats a man of Akainu's stature with two Haki-enhanced quake punches. This is a frightening glimpse of his powers, even in his advanced age. Imagine what a monster Whitebeard was in his prime?
