Trafalgar Law is the captain of the Heart Pirates and one of the most fearsome pirates in One Piece. As a member of the Worst Generation, Law arrived at Sabaody Archipelago with a bounty of 200 million berries.
Over the time-skip, Trafalgar Law has improved vastly and proven himself among the elites by earning a bounty of 500 million berries. While Law's backstory was fleshed out in the Dressrosa arc, fans are unaware of many things concerning the 'Surgeon of Death.'

A lot Law's personality and past are tied in Dressrosa, but are evident throughout the One Piece storyline. 10 Trafalgar Law's Home
Law hails from the North Blue, where he made a reputation for being a ruthless pirate. A survivor of the disaster at Flevance, he joined the Donquixote family after requesting them to let him in. Seeing his nihilistic nature at the tender age of ten, Doflamingo permitted Law to join the crew. According to Law, he had 3 to 4 years left before he'd die, which prompted him to destroy as much as possible before he died. Consequently, he was trained by various members of the Donquixote family in combat.
9 Law's Duality
Law is one of the calmest and most calculating pirates that Oda has created. In contrast to Luffy's easygoing nature, Law plans everything out and follows them to perfection. Despite this, he can be reckless at times, as seen at Sabaody Archipelago where he flipped off Eustass Kid. At Dressrosa, Law did the same to Donquixote Doflamingo despite having suffered a massive beating.
8 Law And Doflamingo
The relationship between Law and Doflamingo is a complicated one. He's known the Dressrosa king since childhood, but grew closer to his younger brother Rosinante.
Despite hating Doflamingo for killing Rosinante, Law still adopted a lot of his habits. For example, "Weaklings can't choose how they die" is a sentiment shared between the two. Law hates him with a passion, but there are things Doflamingo taught him – like every other member of the Donquixote family.
7 Trafalgar Law's Favorite Food
Due to his closeness with Rosinante, some of his traits rubbed off on Law. It could be due to him admiring Rosinante, seeing him as a secondary father figure, which couldn't be any more adorable. One of the traits they share would be their dislike of bread.
Bread is a typical food in the One Piece universe, mainly shown in the earlier parts of the series, but there have been instances where the characters have eaten rice. When invited to the Straw Hat Pirates' ship, Law ate onigiri, also known as rice balls, instead of Sanji's sandwiches for breakfast. However, Rosinante's second favorite food is umeboshi, also known as pickled plums, while Law prefers grilled fish.
6 Law's Cruelty
Although Law is can be a cruel pirate, he's actually against the idea of needless killing. Since he possesses the Ope Ope no Mi, Law is no different from the Strawhat Pirates' Tony Tony Chopper. He's taken a Hippocratic oath to save people's lives, and as such, is against the idea of causing needless bloodshed. In his fight against Basil Hawkins at Wano Country, Law mentions that if possible, he'd like to avoid wreaking havoc and killing mercilessly because that simply isn't how he operates.
5 Law And 'D'
Law is one of the few characters in One Piece who bear the "D" initial in their name. His real name, Trafalgar D. Water Law, is kept a secret. In fact, his parents kept their names secret, implying that they had some sort of information on the "D" clan – described as the 'enemy of God.'
Unfortunately, whatever they knew died with them when the Amber Lead Disease caused a massacre at Flevance. It is known that Law was told to keep his identity hidden. As such, Law himself is looking for the meaning of the "D" and intends to find it out someday.
4 Law's Honor As A Pirate
Law refuses to take credit for things he hasn't done, which the story has pointed out many times. At Sabaody Archipelago, Trafalgar Law declined to accept the gratitude of Jean Bart upon his freedom from slavery, as it was Luffy who led to his release. Similarly at Zou, Law was credited for taking down Doflamingo by his crewmates. As expected, the Heart Pirates captain quickly let them know that Luffy beat Doflamingo and not him.
3 Trafalgar Law's Wanted Poster
As a renowned pirate, it is no surprise that Law has a massive bounty on his head. After the events of Dressrosa, Law has accumulated a bounty of 500 million berries. Interestingly, Bepo's head can be seen on Law's bounty poster, similar to Luffy's bounty poster that features Usopp's head in the background. Bepo and Usopp are in the same stance, and only the backside of their heads can be seen on both posters. This is likely something that One Piece's author, Eiichiro Oda, did to signify Luffy and Law's alliance.
2 Trafalgar Law As The Youngest Shichibukai
During the two-year time-skip, Law formulated his own plan to survive in the New World and take the One Piece for himself. To kick things off, he earned the title of the Shichibukai by delivering 100 pirate hearts to the Marines. Soon after, he earned the status of a Shichibukai, and did so at a remarkably young age of 26, making him the youngest known Shichibukai in the series to date.
1 Trafalgar Law's Jolly Roger
Law has chosen quite a unique Jolly Roger for his Heart Pirates' flag. Like Doflamingo, his Jolly Roger has a 'smiley' design, albeit slightly different, since it doesn't feature the cancel sign. While it is unknown what the meaning behind the Jolly Roger is, the smile most likely is a memento to Rosinante Donquixote, Doflamingo's younger brother. Rosinante died with a grin on his face while protecting Law 13 years ago at Rubeck Island in the North Blue.
