Ace, Sabo, and Luffy swore their brotherhood when they were still just kids. Ace and Sabo were originally friends and they were stealing from people who were twice their size. Luffy joined the group much later and initially, he wasn't considered a part of the group. But, he was persistent and he was finally accepted in the group.

The three were inseparable and they were always up to some mischief. The bond they shared was just pure. First, Sabo tried to set out on his own, but his trip was cut short by World Noble. Ace was the next one to sail and he actually made a name for himself. Luffy was the last one of the brothers to set sail for One Piece. Ace and Sabo both did their best to protect Luffy at all times. Ace and Sabo have some differences on their own and there are certain things that one could do and the other couldn't.

10 Sabo Can: Beat An Admiral

Sabo is the chief of Staff of the Revolutionary Army and he has done some very admirable feats to his name. Sabo has fought against a Navy Admiral at Dressrosa. Sabo was able to fight Fujitora on equal footing without any difficulty. Also, Sabo didn't have complete control over his devil fruit when they fought. Ace, on the other hand, wasn't very strong. He could put up a decent fight against an Admiral, but he definitely wouldn't win.

9 Ace Can: Conqueror's Haki

Ace might not have the strongest of Haki, but he was one of the few characters who were able to use all three kinds of Haki. Ace has been confirmed to be a user of both Armament and Observation Haki in his novel. Ace could use the Conqueror's Haki as well. This was shown when Ace used his Conqueror's Haki subconsciously to knock out members of Bluejam Pirates. Sabo has only been shown using two types of Haki.

8 Sabo Can: Haki Control

It is not a hidden fact that Sabo is extremely good at using Haki. Sabo was dangerous even without having a devil fruit. He rose through the ranks of the Revolutionary Army through sheer hard work. In order for a character to be able to compete against top tier characters, they need great Haki control.

Sabo showed his Haki control when he fought against Fujitora without any difficulty. Sabo went toe-to-toe against the Navy Admiral and it just goes to show that Sabo's Haki allows him to fight against such a top tier opponent with ease.

7 Ace Can: Better Devil Fruit Control

Ace came into possession of the Mera Mera no Mi at some time during his adventure. Mera Mera no Mi is a logia type devil fruit that grants the user enormous amount of power and the ability to freely control flames. Over the years, Ace mastered the use of the devil fruit. Ace's devil fruit control was immaculate and he had developed many attacks. Ace's most famous attack was Fire Fist, which led to his epithet "Fire Fist Ace." Sabo's control over his devil fruit isn't that great as we saw at Dressrosa and actually, he might not get any more time to use it as it seems Sabo is in trouble.

6 Sabo Can: Better Decision Making

It is very important for any character to have the ability to make wise decisions. It is not absolutely necessary to fight all the time and sometimes it is better to make swallow the hard pill and run away. It is difficult to choose between the brothers when it comes to decision making, Sabo is better than Ace when it comes to making crucial decisions. Ace is someone who is driven by emotions and it isn't necessarily a bad thing, but the inability to understand the situation and risking your life 24/7 isn't the best thing either.

5 Ace Can: Pirate King

Portgas D. Ace was the son of the Pirate King, Gol D. Roger. Roger died before Ace's birth and Ace's mother passed away shortly afterward giving birth to Ace. Ace was raised by Roger's rival, Monkey D. Garp. Garp loved Ace like his own grandson Luffy. Garp tried his best so that Ace wouldn't grow up to be a pirate like his father.

He just wanted Ace to have a normal life, but it wasn't to be and Ace grew up to be a pirate. Ace joined Whitebeard Pirates after Whitebeard invited him on board. Ace thought that he could help Whitebeard become the Pirate King, but it was actually the opposite and it would have happened if Ace and Whitebeard were still alive.

4 Sabo Can: Nobility

Sabo was born into nobility. He is the son of Didit and Outlook III. Sabo would have been the King of Goa Kingdom instead of his adoptive brother Sterry if he had abandoned Ace and Luffy. Sabo loved his brothers too much and he would never leave them. When Sabo knew that it was too much, he decided to set sail early and start his adventure. But, his ship was destroyed by a celestial dragon. Sabo was rescued by Monkey D. Dragon, who raised him as a part of the Revolutionary Army.

3 Ace Can: Family Bonds

Ace and Sabo both care about their brother, Luffy. They have shown that they are willing to go to any length to protect him. However, Ace has done much more for Luffy than anyone else. First, he intercepted Blackbeard, who was planning on handing over Luffy to the Marines in order to gain the position of a Shichibukai. Ace also sacrificed his life in order to protect Luffy from Akainu's attack. Ace was also very protective of his crew. He also attacked Akainu because he talked badly about Whitebeard.

2 Sabo Can: Beat Ace

Sabo and Ace have been together through thick and thin. One would sacrifice his life for the other without a doubt. However, when it comes to power Sabo edges Ace by some margin. Ace was the second division commander of the Whitebeard Pirates, but he was unable to damage Akainu. Sabo, on the other hand, is a monster, who fought on equal footing with Fujitora. If nothing bad happened to Sabo at Reverie then it is very possible that he will only increase in power.

1 Ace Can: Pirate Captain

Sabo at Ace and Whitebeard's Grave

Sabo, Luffy, and Ace wanted to be famous pirates when they grew up. Sabo was the first one to embark on an adventure. Sabo's adventure came to a screeching halt due to the Celestial Dragon. Ace made a great start to his career as a pirate. He was able to achieve instant fame. Ace had his own pirate crew known as the Spade Pirates. He was the captain and he amassed a bounty of over 500 million beris. Due to his increased fame, he was also offered the position of a Shichibukai, but he turned it out. Sabo cannot pursue being a pirate anymore due to his duty to the Revolutionary Army.
