Most of the characters that appear in One Piece have usually been a part of just one crew. They remain loyal to either one crew that they join or they start their own crew. However, that doesn't work every time. There are a few characters that have worked for more than just one crew.
These characters were either too young to start a crew or were just waiting for an opportunity to reach their goal. Some had other reasons altogether. In this post, we will be discussing the pirates who were a part of more than just one pirate crew.
10 Whitebeard
Whitebeard was one of the most feared pirates. He held the title of "Strongest Man Alive," while he was still alive. Whitebeard was actually a part of Rocks Pirates before he started his own crew. The Rocks Pirates were led by the infamous Rocks D. Xebec who wanted to rule the entire world.
Whitebeard was young when he was still a part of Rocks. After the death of Rocks, Whitebeard founded his own crew that came to be known as Whitebeard Pirates. The crew grew in power and made Whitebeard a Yonko.
9 Charlotte Linlin
Also known as Big Mom, she is one of the Four Emperors. Big Mom is currently the captain of the Big Mom Pirates. Big Mom's power is almost unrivaled. She possesses the Soru Soru no Mi that grants her an overpowered ability. She is also a user of all three types of Haki.
Big Mom was a part of another pirate crew when she was still young. She was on the same crew as Whitebeard, Kaido, and Shiki. Then after the crew's disbandment, she started her own pirate crew. Big Mom's pirate crew consists of her children.
8 Kaido
Kaido is the main antagonist of the Wano Country arc. He is known as the "Strongest Creature Alive." Kaido is the captain of the Beasts Pirates and obviously their strongest member. Kaido has a rash personality and he is usually not capable of making rational decisions. He has a thing for committing suicide, but it is currently unknown why he does that.
Kaido was also a Rocks Pirate. He left after Rocks' death. Kaido has no mind of his own and he just likes to drink and cause destruction. However, he is undoubtedly among the strongest characters in One Piece.
7 Kozuki Oden
Oden used to be the daimyo of Kuri in Wano Country. He has been a part of two of the most decorated pirate crews ever. First, he was on Whitebeard's crew where he held the position of a division commander. Afterward, Oden joined the Roger Pirates and sailed the entire Grand Line.
Oden was capable of using all three Haki. He had great mastery over Armament Haki and he even managed to injure Kaido with his attack. However, he was killed by Kaido afterward.
6 Nekomamushi
He is one of the two rulers of the Mokomo Dukedom on Zou. Nekomamushi is a member of the Mink Tribe which makes him an extremely strong character. Nekomamushi remained loyal to Kozuki Oden even after his death.
Nekomamushi sailed with the Whitebeard Pirates and then with the Roger Pirates. Nekomamushi is a strong fighter and he is capable of using electro. He was also able to fight Jack on equal footing. Currently, he is with Marco and he's trying to persuade him to come to Wano.
5 Inuarashi
Inuarashi is the other ruler of Mokomo Dukedom. He rules over the kingdom during the day while Nekomamushi rules over during the night. Inuarashi is as strong as Nekomamushi. He fought against Jack when he threatened to destroy the kingdom.
Inuarashi was an equal match to Jack and he gave Jack a hard time. Inuarashi was also a part of the Whitebeard Pirates and the Roger Pirates. He and Nekomamushi were both very loyal to Kozuki Oden, so they moved with him.
4 Shiki
Shiki is one of the most underrated characters in the series. Also known as "The Flying Pirate," Shiki made a name for himself when he was still in his prime. His epithet struck due to his devil fruit power.
Shiki was a part of Rocks Pirates, making him a former crewmate of Whitebeard, Big Mom, and Kaido. Just like the others, Shiki became a famous pirate after the crew was disbanded. Shiki has many notable feats to his name which include breaking out from Impel Down and destroying Marineford.
3 Shanks
Shanks is one of the current Yonko and the youngest amongst them. He was an apprentice on the crew of the Pirate King, as has been revealed in many flashbacks depicting Shanks as a young pirate.
After Roger's death, Shanks set out to start his own crew. He grew in popularity rapidly and rose to the position of a Yonko. Shanks has been a Yonko for six years only but he is respected by everyone, including the Marines. He is the captain of the Red Hair Pirates that considered to be among the strongest crews in the New World.
2 Buggy
Buggy is a living legend without a doubt, and that is meant sincerely. He is friends with Shanks, who is a Yonko, and he was a member of the Roger Pirates, and frankly, that's a lot.
Nowadays, Buggy is the captain of the Buggy Pirates. He ate a devil fruit accidentally when Shanks snuck upon him. Buggy hasn't forgiven him since that day. Buggy's abilities are not that impressive because he is yet to show his full power.
1 Jinbe
Jinbe is easily one of the best side characters in the series. He has been heavily involved in many arcs. He is a former Warlord and the former captain of the Sun Pirates. Jinbe is a very honorable pirate and he is respected by everyone. Many people call him "Boss Jinbe," to show respect.
Jinbe left Big Mom's crew during the Whole Cake Island arc and he officially joined the Straw Hats. It is unknown what is the present status of Jinbe as he risked his life to allow the Straw Hats to escape from the clutches of Big Mom.
