One Piece might not lay extreme stress on fights, but whenever there has been a fight it has been pretty memorable. When you actually think about it, there have been a lot of good fights that have made an impact overall on the series. According to Oda, One Piece's story has skipped the halfway mark.

So, there are still many characters and fights that will come our way, especially towards the end of the Wano arc. One can only imagine what happens once Wano is finished. There are going to be some huge changes in the world of One Piece. In this post, we will be discussing the most iconic fights in One Piece.

10 Monkey D. Luffy vs Rob Lucci

Rob Lucci vs Monkey D. Luffy in One Piece's Enies Lobby arc

Enies Lobby feels like it happened decades ago, but it is still among the best arcs in One Piece. The focus of the arc was the Straw Hats trying to save Robin from being taken away by the Cipher Pol.

The final fight was between Luffy and Rob Lucci. Luffy was badly beaten up when he was fighting Lucci, but he wasn't gonna go down easily. Luffy gave it his all and brought down Lucci after an intense fight, which meant that all of the Straw Hat Pirates could go back together to Merry.

9 Whitebeard Pirates vs Marines & Shichibukai

Whitebeard One Piece

The battle of Marineford is considered by many to be the best in the series. A lot of stuff went down at Marineford, as nearly all of the big names gathered in one place. It had everything that one could desire from an arc. The goal of the Whitebeard Pirates was to save Ace from being killed and they nearly achieved it.

However, Ace ended up being killed by Akainu and what followed was one of the worst beatings that a character could receive. Whitebeard was immediately overcome with rage and he completely upended Akainu. If we are going by logic then, Akainu should have been dead.

8 Roronoa Zoro vs Ryuma

Zoro battling ryuma

Zoro was in search of another sword that would enable him to use his three-sword style. Ryuma is one of the most famous swordsmen in history and he was once renowned as the "Strongest Swordsman in the World."

Zoro could not have faced a better opponent at Thriller Bark. A legendary swordsman with a legendary sword, there isn't anything that would have topped it. After a gruesome duel, Zoro managed to win and Ryuma gifted him the Shusui.

7 Luffy vs Katakuri

This is one of the more recent fights in the series. Luffy vs Katakuri was arguably the best thing about the Whole Cake Island arc. Luffy was facing a man with an undefeated streak and a bounty of over 1 Billion beris. It really was something else.

Katakuri had the upper hand for most of the fight, but in the end, Luffy was able to edge him out. Katakuri and Luffy both came to respect each other during this fight. It made Katakuri seem unlike an antagonist and more of a teacher for Luffy.

6 Akainu vs Aokiji

Akainu vs Aokiji was a fight to determine the Fleet Admiral, which is the highest position in the Marines. After Marineford finished, Sengoku stepped down from his position, which left the spot open for grabs.

Sengoku wanted Aokiji to become the Fleet Admiral and Akainu was competing for the position. The two fought for ten days at Punk Hazard. They even changed the climate of the whole island. One part became hot and the other became freezing cold. In the end, Akainu walked out victorious.

5 Trafalgar Law vs Vergo

Trafalgar Law had been staying at Punk Hazard. He became a Shichibukai after he sent the World Government 100 hearts. Law and Luffy form an alliance on Punk Hazard, where they decide to both go after Kaido. But, things don't go as planned.

Vergo arrived on Punk Hazard and he soon fought Law. Law was at a disadvantage as his heart was held by Vergo. Smoker also got involved in the fight and helped Law regain his heart. When Law finally defeated Vergo, he gave a brilliant speech which is arguably one of the best in One Piece.

4 Marines & Roger Pirates vs Rocks Pirates

Before Roger became the Pirate King, there was one pirate who was making waves throughout the world. He was known as Rocks D. Xebec. He was the captain of the Rocks Pirates and his crew consisted of Charlotte Linlin, Kaido, Whitebeard, and Shiki.

In order to put a stop to this pirate group, Roger teamed up with the Marines. The three groups fought at the God Valley and Rocks D. Xebec was finally defeated. After this incident, Garp was given the epithet "Hero of the Marines."

3 Luffy vs Crocodile

Luffy fighting Crocodile during the Alabasta arc in One Piece

This was Luffy's first big test when he entered the Grand Line. A shrewd character, Crocodile had taken over the entire kingdom of Alabasta and his plan was going very smoothly.

One thing that separates Crocodile from most of the other villains is that he manages to beat Luffy twice before he is taken down. With the fall of Crocodile, the kingdom of Alabasta could once again feel the rain.

2 Roronoa Zoro vs Mr. 1

Zoro had a very tough job in Alabasta. He was up against Mr. 1, who has the power of Supa Supa no Mi. Daz Bones could only be beaten if the person fighting against him could cut steel.

Generally, Zoro was on the back foot during the majority of the fight. Mr. 1 looked destined for glory until he realized that he is an antagonist in a shonen manga. Zoro managed to finally slice through him, accomplishing the awesome feat of cutting steel.

1 Whitebeard vs Akainu

Whitebeard vs Akainu was just something different. It might not have been much of a fight as there was only one-way traffic coming from Whitebeard, but it was a really emotional encounter. Akainu had killed Ace in cold blood before Whitebeard's own eyes and there is no way a father would stand his son being murdered.

What followed was a spectacular beating inflicted by Whitebeard on Akainu. Whitebeard should have killed Akainu if we are being honest, but as Akainu had a role to play in the future, Oda refrained from killing him.
