Haki is a power that dwells within every person in the world of One Piece. It lets a user manifest spiritual energy in unimaginable ways, opening up a door of great possibilities in the process. With the gradual progress of the series, the usage of Haki has also become more prominent and with strong pirates in the New World, the ability to be able to manifest it in any form is essential.

Although many have already mastered the power to use Haki, some are on the brink of getting access to this majestic power. Here are 10 One Piece characters closest to awakening Haki.

10 Capone Bege

Capone Bege is one of the members of the Worst Generation and the Captain of the Fire Tank Pirates. Bege served under the likes of Big Mom at one point, and later on, dented her image by conspiring to take her down.

At Whole Cake Island, Bege proved himself to be one of the strongest among the Worst Generation and rightfully so. Unfortunately, Bege doesn't possess the ability to use Haki, or at least hasn't been shown using this skill. He certainly does possess knowledge about it, at the very least. With that being said, it is clear that Bege is next in line to display his skills with Haki.

9 Jewelry Bonney

The Captain of the Bonney Pirates, Jewelry Bonney is an infamous pirate throughout the New World who has only gone on to become fearsome over the time-skip. Jewelry Bonney had a bounty of 140 million berries before the time-skip, implying that she was already a big threat to the Government.

Bonney may not be important to where we are in the story right now, but she's certainly going to be extremely important in the future and when that moment arrives, she will, more than likely, display her proficiency with Haki.

8 Basil Hawkins

Basil Hawkins The Magician from One Piece

One of the most featured pirates in the Wano Country arc so far, Basil Hawkins is the captain of the Hawkins Pirates and also a member of the Worst Generation. He served under Yonko Kaido for quite a while.

In terms of combat, Hawkins was powerful enough to fight the likes of Roronoa Zoro at Wano Country, which makes him an incredibly powerful guy. Surprisingly, he doesn't seem to be able to use Haki at least for now. In the future, Hawkins will likely display this ability, if he is alive, that is.

7 Nami

Nami is one of the members of the Straw Hat Pirates, and she serves as the Navigator of the crew. Throughout One Piece, Nami has evolved from a weak character to someone who is more than capable of handling even the toughest of situations on her own.

At Whole Cake Island, Nami managed to pull off some incredible feats, such as injuring Big Mom on more than one occasion. At Wano, Nami is sure to encounter some of the strongest foes in the series. Eiichiro Oda will likely give Nami the ability to use Haki when that moment arrives.

6 Nico Robin

The archaeologist of the Straw Hat Pirates, Nico Robin is one of the most powerful members of the Straw Hat crew. Despite that, Robin has featured in few battles, with her last true one-on-one happening at Skypiea!

Robin has gotten powerful, but she doesn't seem to possess the ability to use Haki for now. Just like Nami, Robin will likely encounter some strong foes at Wano Country which will require her to be able to use Haki. It is likely that Robin will get at least Observation Haki by the end of the Wano Country arc.

5 Franky

The Shipwright of the Straw Hat Pirates, Franky is yet another powerful member of the crew who will be on the front line at Wano Country. Having fought against the likes of Vice-Admiral Bastille already, Franky looks ready for someone stronger.

Consequently, with stronger opponents, Franky will need to power-up himself as well. Franky will likely gain the power to use Observation and Armament Haki by the end of the Wano Country arc which has entered its Third Act already.

4 Bepo

Bepo is the No. 2 of the Heart Pirates, after their Captain, Trafalgar D. Water Law. Being a Mink, Bepo has been extremely powerful right since his childhood. He knows how to use Electro very well, and on a full moon night, he can turn himself into a Sulong monster, further adding to his great power.

Bepo doesn't seem to able to use Haki for now, but being Law's No. 2, it is expected of him to be able to display this ability when he fights the members of Kaido's crew in the upcoming battle at Onigashima.

3 Usopp

The sniper of the Straw Hat Pirates, Usopp first awakened the ability to use Haki at Dressrosa when he sniped Sugar from miles away. Although Usopp already has the ability to use one form of Haki, there's another form that he will, more likely than not, awaken at Wano.

Being a sniper, it is essential for Usopp to be able to strike his targets with Haki. With the majority of the enemies at Wano Country being Zoans, Armament Haki will see to it that Usopp does significant damage to them.

2 Tony Tony Chopper

Monster Point Chopper

The Doctor of the Straw Hat Pirates, Chopper is a crucial member of the crew whose importance goes beyond just being a doctor. Chopper is essential to the crew when it comes to fighting as well, with his kung-fu and Monster Point providing him the ability to battle strong enemies.

At Wano, Chopper would certainly need a boost and Armament/Observation Haki would be enough for him to deal with the subsequent threat at Onigashima. Furthermore, Kaido's crew has a ton of Zoans, and therefore, it is the perfect place for Chopper to shine.

1 Brook

Brook from One Piece

Another member of the Straw Hat Pirates, Brook is an incredibly powerful swordsman who possesses the abilities of the underworld. Being a pirate for an extremely long time, it is questionable how he isn't capable of using Haki already.

In the need of the hour, Brook will certainly need to step up at Wano and get stronger to improve the crew's chance of toppling Kaido and Big Mom. For that, he would need the ability to manifest at least one Haki form. It is likely that Brook will gain Armament Haki in the fight at Onigashima.
