As a renowned series about piracy, One Piece showcases a huge variety of ships, including the Straw Hat Pirates' very own Thousand Sunny. The Straw Hats' second ship boasts a variety of features, especially since Franky made sure to include to allocate space for each member of the crew. However, its most notable amenities lie in transport and weaponry. The Sunny is undeniably one of the most technologically-advanced ships in the entire pirate world, and Franky's love for inventing certainly manifests in the Sunny's unique features.

The Thousand Sunny is the culmination of Franky's various weapon experiments, and its ultimate goal is to circumnavigate the world. Even though it can't contend with the other gigantic ships in the series in terms of size, the Straw Hats' beloved ship doesn't lack durability or firepower. Franky equipped it with countless weapons and amenities, turning it into the Swiss knife equivalent of ships.

Soldier Dock System

The most notable amenity the Thousand Sunny has is its unique rotating dock system called the Soldier Dock System. It has six rotating chambers, and each chamber houses a trump card. Channel Zero is the only channel with two designated compartments. Each compartment houses a cola-powered paddle wheel, which allows the ship to alter its course. Its power was shown when Franky used the paddle wheels to escape a raging storm, but Channel Zero was later on changed to accommodate channels five and six. Channel One is the home of the White Hobby Horse, the waver Nami salvaged from a shipwreck and optimized by Franky.

The Mini Merry, a small boat that is visually a miniature version of the Straw Hat Pirates' first ship, is stored in Channel Two. The small boat is primarily designed to carry multiple loads, making it a perfect vehicle for strolling and shopping. Channel Three holds the Shark Submerge, a blue submarine in the shape of a shark. It's a three-man submarine that is often used for reconnaissance and stealth activities.

One of the newer additions to the Thousand Sunny is the Black Rhino FR-U 4, a three-wheeled, giant motorcycle. Given enough momentum, the Black Rhino FR-U 4 can topple even Big Mom. However, its best selling point is its ability to dock with the item stored in Channel Five. Channel Five and Channel Six were the terminals that replaced the two Channel Zeroes. While Channel Four houses the Black Rhino FR-U, Channel Five has Brachio-Tank 5. The Brachio-Tank 5, in tandem with the Black Rhino FR-U 4, compose General Franky. Unfortunately, Channel Six only contains the inflatable pool that used to be in Channel Four.

Multiple Cannons

Franky, being a weapon enthusiast, does not allow his craftmanship to sail without a ton of equipment to protect itself, and the Thousand Sunny has multiple interesting cannons in its arsenal. Among them, the cannon that is perhaps the fan favorite is the Coup de Burst. The Thousand Sunny uses three barrels of cola as fuel to fire the huge cannon on its rear, allowing it to shoot upwards and "fly" for one kilometer. It's the ship's trump card when it comes to escaping dodgy situations.

The Thousand Sunny's figurehead contains a cannon called the Gaon Cannon. It's specifically hidden within the lion's mouth and fires a beam of condensed air. The cannon is strong enough to obliterate half of Duval's base, though it requires three barrels of cola to use. But if the Straw Hats have no intention of rocketing backward, another two barrels of cola are required to use the Coup de Burst and keep the ship in place.

The Thousand Sunny may be an inanimate object, but it's undeniably a member of the Straw Hat Pirates -- similar to the Going Merry. The ship has saved the crew on countless occasions with its numerous amenities, and it certainly will continue to do so in future updates of One Piece.
