The arc starts after Drum Island arc when Chopper joined the Straw Hats, it starts with episode 92 and it ends with episode 130. The Straw Hats faced a huge challenge in this arc and many consider it to be the first real test for the Straw Hat Pirates. With a lot of important episodes, Alabasta is an amazing arc. In this episode, Chopper tries his best to distract Crocodile which provides Sanji with a window of opportunity to free the crew. However, Crocodile was just too smart and imprisons them once again, alongside Smoker.

They use Mr. 3 powers to get out the second time. After seeing that Luffy asked Zoro to save him, Smoker has a completely changed opinion on Luffy and he actually doesn't chase after him when the Straw Hats leave the place.

9 Episode 108: The Fearsome Bananawani and Mr. Prince! (8.1)

Chaka is wary of the threat the rebels pose and he orders the guards to attack them. Koza and co. make their way towards Alubarna, while the Straw Hats are still trapped in Crocodile's cell. Crocodile mocks them as he is confident that they will eventually die when the water fills the room completely. Sanji calls Crocodile on his transponder snail and he uses the alias "Mr. Prince." Vivi rushes out to get Sanji's help, but she's shocked by him when she does.

8 Episode 119: Essence of a Mighty Sword! The Power to Cut Steel and the Breath of All Things! (8.2)

This episode contains one of the best moments in the entire series. After Nami's tedious fight against Miss Doublefinger, which ended with Nami beating her opponent, the focus shifted towards the fight between Roronoa Zoro and Mr. 1.

Given Mr. 1's devil fruit, it is almost impossible for any swordsman to beat him. It was a big ask for Zoro to fight Mr. 1. In order to beat Mr. 1, Zoro needed the power to cut through steel. Zoro was smacked around for most of the fight, but like every other time he finally delivered. He managed to get the better of Mr. 1 and finally defeated him.

7 Episode 122: Sand Crocodile and Water Luffy! Death Match: Round 2! (8.2)

After being outclassed by Crocodile in their first fight, Luffy attempts to fight him again. He tries to fight Crocodile as he knows the weakness of Crocodile's devil fruit ability now. He uses water to fight, but the outcome is still the same.

Luffy is beaten once again by Crocodile. The remaining Straw Hats try to find a bomb before it explodes. Nico Robin is guided to the location of the Pluton poneglyph by King Cobra.

6 Episode 125: Magnificent Wings! My Name is Pell, Guardian Spirit of the Kingdom! (8.2)

Well, this episode is great when you're watching it for the first time. However, if you have already completed the arc, you would know that this episode doesn't deserve to be top 10. The episode focuses on the bomb that was hidden by Crocodile.

Crocodile had the bomb inside the clock tower. Vivi finds the bomb, but she has to fight Mr. 7 and Miss. Father's Day. She manages to beat them, but she doesn't have enough time to stop it. So, out of nowhere comes Pell and he carries the bomb to the sky and "sacrifices" himself.

5 Episode 130: Beware Her Scent! The Seventh One is Nico Robin! (8.2)

After Crocodile is finally taken down by Luffy, things start to become normal in Alabasta. The Marines failed to catch the Straw Hats yet again. When the crew escaped, they saw Nico Robin coming out of the cabin from inside the ship.

Everyone is surprised to see Robin, however, she manages to convince the crew to let her join in. Towards the end, we see Pell still alive. He managed to survive the blast for no reason whatsoever.

4 Episode 94: Reunion of the Powerful! His Name is Fire Fist Ace! (8.2)

In the episode, we see the Straw Hats at Nanohana. The Straw Hats soon face a problem as they encounter Smoker and Tashigi. The problems don't stop there as Luffy is running wild elsewhere.

This episode had a major revelation. It was finally revealed that Portgas D. Ace is the big brother of Luffy. He is the second division commander of the Whitebeard Pirates. Smoker tries to chase Luffy and Straw Hats. However, Ace steps in and prevents Smoker from chasing the Straw Hats.

3 Episode 110: Merciless Fight to the Death! Luffy vs. Crocodile! (8.3)

The Straw Hats and Vivi begin to cross the desert in order to reach Alubarna. Alubarna is the place where the Straw Hats will have the final battle against Crocodile. However, Crocodile captures Vivi. Luffy manages to change places with Vivi, though. He starts his first battle against Crocodile. The battle ends unexpectedly as Crocodile easily overwhelms Luffy in the fight.

2 Episode 129: Everything Began That Day! Vivi Tells of her Adventures! (8.3)

After Crocodile's defeat, things begin to slowly turn back to normal in Alabasta. In this episode, Vivi and Straw Hats finally go their separate ways. Vivi decides to stay back in the kingdom of Alabasta. The Straw Hats still consider her an important friend.

As they move on, they are faced by Marines led by Black Cage Hina. However, Bon Clay steps in and saves the day. He and his crew make themselves bait for Hina so that the Straw Hats could escape.

1 Episode 126: I Will Surpass You! Rain Falls on Alabasta! (8.8)

The highest-rated episode of the Alabasta arc features the third and final fight between Luffy and Crocodile. Luffy had been bested by Crocodile twice already and it seemed that the result would be similar once again.

But, this time Luffy was prepared to go all out to beat Crocodile. He managed to beat Crocodile after a very long fight. The civil war also stopped once the rain started to pour on the people.
