WARNING: The following contains spoilers for One Piece, Episode 912: "The Strongest Man in the World! Shutenmaru, the Thieves Brigade Chief!"

One Piece's Wano arc kicks into high gear with the anime's latest episode. Previously, we learned of Kin'emon's plot to overthrough the villain, Kaido and his ally, the Shogun Orochi. During an upcoming festival, the samurai will bring the combined force of several pirate crews and those still loyal to the old daimyo of Kuri Town, Oden, to Kaido's home. When those seated at the festival get good and drunk, Luffy's team will converge on their adversaries and slay them once and for all.

Until then, Luffy and his crew just need to spread awareness of the plot to those still loyal to Kin'emon -- who are marked out by a dark moon tattoo. And they need to do it covertly, too, especially after Luffy's actions in Kuri Town drew a great deal of attention his way.

SHUTENMARU

Many of Luffy's crew are already installed throughout Wano hard at work spreading the word about the upcoming invasion -- including Usopp, who is using his position to do so in secret. Meanwhile, Robin is expected to be summoned to Orochi personally, while Franky retrieves the blueprints to Kaido's home. Usopp, however, the complicates things by bragging about handing a flyer to who he claims is the strongest man on Wano: the chief of the thieves brigade, Shutenmaru.

Elsewhere, Sanji questions Kin'emon's plan. Oden defeated Ashura Doji, one of the ruffians who ruled Kuri Town, years prior. However, now Kin'emon wants them to recruit Ashura, one of the Nine Red Scabbards, having claimed Ashura served Oden. Kin'emon reveals that, after Ashura was defeated, he swore loyalty to Oden. Even more curious, he changed his name in the years following Oden's defeat, becoming "Shutenmaru." Luffy seems eager to meet him, possibly to fight him, or possibly to have him as a companion.

RAIDING THE TOWN

Jack the Drought, Kaido's third in command

With the feast still continuing in the wake of Luffy's retrieval of food, they find Shutenmaru descending upon the town, looking for said food. This is when we learn Shutenmaru is a fairly massive person, both in terms of bulk and height. Thieves manage to snag the food away from the poor, beating away the pleading masses in bulk. Shutenmaru, however, seems dismissive of Luffy's accomplishment since he can easily steal the food away from the defenseless, himself. There are, after all, no samurai who can stand in their way.

Shutenmaru even draws a sword on an old woman kneeling in protest, stating that the fallen samurai who followed Oden will return (which they already have). Before Shutenmaru can act further, however, Jack the Drought, a Beast Pirate, charges in looking for Luffy. Jack has aligned himself with Wano, here to settle the score with Luffy. Jack reveals that Kaido only keeps Shutenmaru alive because he wants the Chief Thief to submit to his will as a subordinate.

In response, Shutenmaru starts fighting Jack, managing to carve through Jack and his weapons in one fell swoop, displaying shocking swiftness and skill despite his size. This doesn't stop the fight from continuing, though, with Jack pulling out all the stops to subdue Shutenmaru. The sheer shockwaves from the fight are enough to blow buildings asunder. Jack lands severals swings, carving through Shutenmaru's flesh. We learn that since Oden perished, Shutenmaru has sought some way to meet a glorious end. Though despite this, he still charges and strike Jack hard.

OH, AND KAIDO BECOMES A DRAGON

Kaido uses his Devil Fruit, Fish-Fish Fruit, Model: Azure Dragon, in One Piece's Wano Country arc.

Meanwhile, back in Kaido's home base, One Piece's current big villain drinks a ton of sake and... turns into a dragon. (As you do.) He then flies off into the sky, creating lightning storms that ravage Wano. The storm is so intense that even Jack and Shutenmaru stop fighting to look into the sky in terror.

In fact, all of those loyal to Kaido stop and stare in horror, fearing that Kaido is coming for them. Luffy seems mostly oblivious as ever, even as his comrades warn him to seek shelter. His sheer movement is enough to create hurricane winds, blowing toxic fumes in their face. Then, Oden's son Momonosuke, one of the few time-traveling survivors of Kaido's rampage 20 years prior, also transforms into a dragon. (Kin'emon promises he'll explain why this happens later.)

Kaido, however, descends upon Jack in dragon form and, leaving him terrified, commands Jack to bring "the brats" to him -- as soon as possible.
