Devil Fruit are a major source of power in One Piece. Devil Fruit grant incredible powers to those two eat them, but take away their ability to swim. While not all Devil Fruit powers are equally great, they all make the user stronger than they were prior to eating them.
Most characters in One Piece rely on Haki to counter the most powerful Devil Fruit abilities, but a few have granted characters the power they need to fight off specific Devil Fruit.
10 Gomu Gomu no Mi Counters Goro Goro no Mi
Goro Goro no Mi is a Logia-type Devil Fruit that was eaten by Enel, the main antagonist of the Skypiea arc. Goro Goro no Mi allows Enel to turn into lightning at will and manipulate it as he likes. Luffy's Gomu Gomu no Mi makes him a rubber man, meaning the power of lightning is ineffective against him. When the two fought on Skypiea, Luffy was said to be the natural enemy of God Enel due to his ability to resist his powers.
9 Mera Mera No Mi Counters Hie Hie No Mi
Hie Hie no Mi is another Logia-type Devil Fruit that was eaten by former Admiral Aokiji of the Marines. Hie Hie no Mi lets him control ice and turn into it at will. Aokiji's powers are quite dangerous when pit against the Mera Mera no Mi, which lets its user create, control, and become flames itself. Aokiji clashed with Ace during the Paramount War and his Devil Fruit inferiority was easily visible.
8 Sabi Sabi No Mi Counters Buki Buki No Mi
Buki Buki no Mi was eaten by none other than Baby 5 of the Happo Navy back when she was member of the Donquixote Pirates. This Devil Fruit is a Paramecia-type and allows her to turn into any weapon at will. Shu's Sabi Sabi no Mi allows him to set rust to anything that he touches, meaning a single touch of his palm is enough to destroy all the weapons that the Buki Buki no Mi can produce. Shu destroyed Zoro's Yubashiri with just a single touch of his palm.
7 Mira Mira No Mi Counters Noro Noro No Mi
Eaten by Charlotte Brulee, Mira Mira no Mi is a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that allows her to create mirrors at will. She also gains access to a completely new dimension, known as the Mirro-World, which she can access through any mirror.
Mira Mira no Mi is the perfect counter for Foxy's Noro Noro no Mi, which shoots a beam of light at a person. Using mirrors, the light can be reflected back, as seen when Foxy did it himself.
6 Yami Yami No Mi Can Counter Pika Pika No Mi
Blackbeard's Yami Yami no Mi is an incredibly powerful Devil Fruit and allows him to produce and control darkness at will. According to Blackbeard, his darkness has infinite gravity, meaning it can suck in anything around it, including light itself. Kizaru's Pika Pika no Mi, despite strong, stands no chance against the gravitational pull of the Yami Yami no Mi.
5 Mera Mera No Mi Counters Pero Pero No Mi
Mera Mera no Mi is easily one of the most powerful Logia-type Devil Fruits in One Piece as it allows its user to transform into flames and manipulate them at will. Perospero's Pero Pero no Mi lets him to create candy and control it as he likes, but its weakness to fire makes the Mera Mera no Mi a natural counter.
4 Netsu Netsu No Mi Counters Yuki Yuki No Mi
Netsu Netsu no Mi is a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit eaten by Charlotte Oven, the Minister of Baking for the Big Mom Pirates. Oven can increase the temperature of his body drastically using his Devil Fruit.
A mere touch of his fist is enough to burn someone and this makes him a perfect counter for the Yuki Yuki no Mi, which lets the user become snow and control it. While the Yuki Yuki no Mi is powerful, it can't stand heat and will melt within seconds in its presence.
3 Gomu Gomu No Mi Also Counters Gura Gura No Mi
Gomu Gomu is a counter to the Goro Goro no Mi, but it can also resist the power of the Gura Gura no Mi. The strongest Paramecia, Gura Gura no Mi allows the user to create quakes out of thin air at will. These quakes can also be used to strike a person and the vibrations are powerful enough to shatter their bones, but the Gomu Gomu no Mi grants immunity against this power due to its rubber properties.
2 Kira Kira No Mi Counters Supa Supa No Mi
Eaten by Daz Bones, Supa Supa no Mi is a powerful Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that turned him into a dice human by creating a blade out of his entire body. Supa Supa no Mi is quite dangerous and even gave Roronoa Zoro quite a lot of trouble. Against Diamond Jozu's Kira Kira no Mi, however, its powers are useless. Jozu's toughness is a natural counter against the dicing power of the Supa Supa no Mi.
1 Bara Bara No Mi Counters Ito Ito No Mi Perfectly
Donquixote Doflamingo's Ito Ito no Mi allows him to produce strings at will. These strings are incredibly sharp and slice just like blades. Ito Ito no Mi also allows Doflamingo to control others by using Parasite, but all these abilities have little advantage against Buggy's Bara Bara no Mi. Buggy's Devil Fruit makes him completely impervious to slash-based attacks. Furthermore, Buggy can simply scramble his body parts and completely avoid certain attacks, making his fruit a perfect counter for Doflamingo's.
