There are three main types of Haki in One Piece: Observation, Armament, and Conqueror's Haki. Conqueror's Haki, also known as the Haki of the Supreme King, is the rarest form of Haki that only a few people in the world of One Piece are born with. Unlike the other two Haki types, Conqueror's Haki can't be learned through training and is only possessed by those born with the spirit of a king.

Conqueror's Haki is known to allow a user to assert their willpower over others, knocking out the weaker ones in the process. 19 Portgas D. Ace's Haki Potential Was Cut Short By His Death

Arguably no pirate in the New Age was more destined for greatness than Portgas D. Ace. The son of Gol D. Roger first demonstrated Conqueror's Haki at age 10, and by the time One Piece began, he also commandeered the powers of the Mera Mera no Mi Devil Fruit. Ace quickly turned infamous around the Grand Line, especially after becoming a leading member of the Whitebeard Pirates.

Unfortunately, Ace's life came to an end before he mastered either Conqueror's Haki or his Devil Fruit. While it's clear that his potential was off the charts, his lack of demonstrable control over the former makes him the least-skilled Conqueror's Haki user on this list. Besides, Akainu would have found it much more difficult to pierce through Ace's body if the latter had honed his Haki skills to perfection.

18 Eustass Kidd Has Come Very Close To Rivaling Luffy

Few characters are capable of rivaling Monkey D. Luffy. Yet, against all odds, Eustass Kid has come very close to doing so. The captain of the Kid Pirates played a major role in the defeat of Kaido and Big Mom, due in no small part to his Conqueror's spirit. His Jiki Jiki no Mi Devil Fruit can turn Kid into a living magnet, a power that becomes rather extraordinary after he Awakens it.

During Kid's standoff with Kaido, the intimidating Yonko remarked about Kid's ability to utilize Conqueror's Haki, confirming his latent potential. Time will tell if he consciously starts to use the ability to advance his station. That said, even the Devil Fruit-Awakened Kid may not have had as much success against Big Mom without Trafalgar D. Water Law's assistance, so he definitely needs to rely more on his Conqueror's Haki.

17 Boa Hancock And Her Kuja Tribe Are Famous For Their Haki Skills

Also known as the Snake Princess, Boa Hancock is the leader of the Kuja Tribe and one of the strongest characters in the series. As a Queen, it is no surprise to see that she has the power to use Conqueror's Haki — an ability that is only possible for those with a regal spirit. The entirety of the Kuja Tribe is known for its tremendous skills with Haki, so it would make sense for Boa Hancock to be an excellent user of its rarest form.

While she hasn't employed Conqueror's Haki in any on-screen conflict, that seems primed to change in the near future. Interestingly, Hancock failed to defeat the Blackbeard Pirates during their invasion, as Blackbeard effortlessly neutralized her Devil Fruit. This further highlights Blackbeard's remarkable potential since he may not even be able to use Conqueror's Haki at this point in the story.

16 Chinjao Was Once Regarded As A Rival To Both Garp And Gol D. Roger

At one point in time, Chinjao held the rare honor of being considered a rival to both the Hero of the Marines, Monkey D. Garp, and the King of the Pirates, Gol D. Roger. Since his name once carried the same weight as these two legends, it should come as no surprise that the retired pirate wields a devastating power like Conqueror's Haki.

When fans first meet Chinjao, he is competing in the gladiator tournament for the Mera Mera no Mi. There, he knocks out multiple foes by exerting his will, demonstrating a level of proficiency with Conqueror's Haki that few One Piece characters have been able to manage. All things considered, however, Chinjao's advanced age makes him one of the weaker Conqueror's Haki users on this list.

15 Donquixote Doflamingo Demonstrates A High Level Of Conqueror's Haki

Donquixote Doflamingo is arguably one of the most hateful villains in One Piece. He's also the first character to mention the possibility of Devil Fruit Awakening, setting the stage for Luffy's eventual evolution. Given Donquixote Doflamingo's domineering personality, however, it should come as no surprise that he possesses the rarest form of Haki.

As shown during his conflict with the G-5 Marines on Punk Hazard, Doflamingo can purposely use his Conqueror's Haki to instantly KO his less-threatening opponents. Doflamingo's ability to purposefully employ his Conqueror's Haki demonstrates a level of control that eludes many of the few characters capable of using the rare technique. The villain first awakened this form of Haki when he was only 10 years old, so he's had plenty of time to familiarize himself with its usage.

14 Charlotte Katakuri Can Easily Put Weaker Opponents To Sleep

Until the Whole Cake Island arc, fans remained largely in the dark about the mechanics of high-level Haki usage. However, thanks to Monkey D. Luffy's conflict with Charlotte Katakuri, they were able to see just how devastating these mysterious powers can be. Unlike the other members of the Big Mom Pirates, however, Katakuri doesn't seem to be a complete villain.

Katakuri is an expert at utilizing Armament and Observation Haki, especially when it comes to the highly specialized sub-technique known as Future Vision. Although his mastery over Conqueror's Haki is far less developed in comparison, he is still capable of wielding it on command. As seen when Charlotte Flampe interrupts his fight with Luffy, the Minister of Flour can instantly put weaker opponents to sleep by utilizing this technique.

13 Yamato Awakened His Conqueror's Haki By Defeating Kaido's Men

Yamato vehemently refuses to side with Kaido and his approach to ruling Wano. That said, Yamato has undoubtedly benefited from his father's powerful genetics. In addition to his natural strength and extremely rare Devil Fruit, Yamato is capable of wielding Conqueror's Haki — something that he likely owes to the influence of his father.

While running wild on Onigashima as a child, Yamato made a habit out of attacking (and often defeating) Kaido's subordinates. Through this activity, Yamato awakened his Conqueror's Haki. Yamato was eventually able to coat their weapon with its devastating energy, making him one of the best Conqueror's Haki users in One Piece. Fans hope that Yamato will return again at some point in the future, along with beloved side characters like Vivi.

12 Roronoa Zoro Can Now Imbue His Blades With Conqueror's Haki

Zoro will certainly become the strongest swordsman in the world, achieving a dream that most warriors consider impossible. That said, he can only succeed if he has the capacity for Conqueror's Haki. Prior to the Wano arc, Roronoa Zoro's ability to use Conqueror's Haki had remained dormant inside his body. However, after Kaido acknowledged the fact that Zoro possessed this skill, he rapidly developed the ability to employ it better than most characters in the series.

During his fight with King, Roronoa Zoro imbued each of his blades with both Armament and Conqueror's Haki, showing that he was no ordinary combatant. Furthermore, Zoro's eventual defeat of King made him one of the deadliest threats on the entire Grand Line. Considering Zoro's masterful use of Armament Haki, he should be able to further refine his usage of the ultra-rare Haki ability.

11 Kozuki Oden Actually Managed To Leave A Scar On Kaido

Oden was the Daimyo of the Kuri region of Wano and the rightful heir to the position of Shogun of the land. As a samurai, Oden's skills — including the ability to generate Conqueror's Haki — were beyond anything the country had ever seen. Although Oden's character and behavior occasionally verged on the buffoonish, his devastating strength was never in any doubt.

While Kozuki Oden's Armament Haki was his greatest strength, his conflicts with Whitebeard and Kaido proved that he was more than capable of using Conqueror's Haki as well. Although he came up short in his battles against both opponents, the scar that he left on Kaido speaks to Oden's dominating spirit. In addition, it's entirely possible that Oden survived being boiled to death for over an hour due to his Conqueror's Haki. While Oden is clearly strong, there are stronger Conqueror's Haki users on this list.

10 Sengoku Is A Major Legend Of The Bygone Era

Sengoku is the former Fleet Admiral of the Navy and a legend of the bygone era — as a result, he often takes a backseat to One Piece's younger generation of characters. He and Monkey D. Garp were the strongest Marines during the era of Gol D. Roger, which can likely be attributed to their masterful use of Haki.

Unfortunately, Sengoku hasn't gotten many opportunities to showcase his abilities on screen. He does activate his Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Daibutsu Devil Fruit during the Marineford War, but the nuances of his abilities remain ambiguous. While he is obviously one of the most powerful characters to have ever appeared in the story, the limits of his Conqueror's Haki are currently unknown.

9 Big Mom Is Arguably The Most Powerful Woman In The World

Charlotte Linlin, also known as Big Mom, is one of the former Emperors of the Sea and arguably the strongest woman in the world of One Piece. She is the Queen of Tottoland because of her unparalleled strength and numerous special abilities, including her invulnerable skin, gargantuan size, incomparable strength, and limitless perseverance.

Although her Devil Fruit, the Soru Soru no Mi, is a big reason for her might, her usage of Haki is what truly makes her a threat. As a Haki user, Big Mom is known to be magnificent. Her Conqueror's Haki is so dense that it can damage the surrounding area, as demonstrated during her clash with Kaido, which split the skies of Wano apart. Currently, however, Big Mom's status after falling into the lava pits of Wano remains unknown.

8 Silvers Rayleigh's Haki Was At Least Twice As Strong As Luffy's

Famed as the Dark King, Silvers Rayleigh is the former First Mate of the Roger Pirates and the Pirate King's right hand. As such, he's an exceptionally strong fighter. If his reputation along the Grand Line is any indication, then he is also one of the most skilled Conqueror's Haki users in the entire series. Rayleigh's combat prowess and exceptional swordsmanship can be seen when he fights Admiral Kizaru on Sabaody Archipelago.

If that's not impressive enough, Rayleigh's Conqueror's Haki is said to be over twice as strong as Luffy's was during the events of the Fish-Man Island arc. In other words, the former Roger Pirate could knock out over 100,000 New World pirates in a single instant. Since Silvers Rayleigh can also imbue his strikes with the Haki, he is easily one of the most powerful Haki users in One Piece.

7 Topman Warcury Has Shown Himself To Be A Formidable Combatant

Most fans assumed that the Celestial Nobles were nothing more than a waste of space, but it appears that some of them bear overwhelming powers. As seen in the Egghead Arc, all the Five Elders have mythical Zoan Devil Fruits that they have essentially mastered. Also known as the "Warrior God of Justice," Topman Warcury is the only one of the Five Elders to have demonstrated the possession of Conqueror's Haki.

During the battle on Egghead, Warcury's Conqueror's Haki is extremely powerful as it can knock people out from miles away. Even Luffy's Gear 5 reacts strangely to this attack, showing that the Five Elders are not to be underestimated. That said, the Five Elders have several other abilities that make them supremely formidable, including limited telepathy and near-instant healing.

6 Monkey D. Garp

Vice-Admiral Monkey D. Garp hasn't been in many battles in the anime, so the One Piece fandom has never really known where to place him in terms of power. However, he first exhibits his devastating strength by punching Marco the Phoenix to the ground, thereby preventing him from rescuing Ace. Garp has also refused to become an Admiral on numerous occasions, demonstrating that the Marines genuinely believe him capable of extraordinary feats.

Garp's greatest claim to fame is defeating the Rocks Pirates, one of the strongest crews to ever sail the Grand Line, although he does require Roger's help to finish the job. Garp first reveals his control over Conqueror's Haki in the Egghead Arc, where he battles the former Admiral Kuzan. To nobody's surprise, the old man appears to be a master of the technique.

5 Monkey D. Luffy Hasn't Even Reached His Haki Limits

Monkey D. Luffy is the captain of the Straw Hat Pirates and one of the strongest characters in One Piece. He initially revealed his Conqueror's Haki on Marineford Island, knocking out countless enemies without even realizing it. Luffy's ability to use Conqueror's Haki has since improved after his training with Rayleigh. However, following his battle with Kaido on Wano, his mastery over the technique has reached new heights.

Luffy's latent potential is as high as anyone in One Piece, as shown when he used Conqueror's Haki to knock out many of Kaido's subordinates while completely unconscious. After learning how to imbue his strikes with the rare form of Haki during his fight with Kaido, the Straw Hat Pirates' captain officially entered the upper echelon of One Piece's strongest characters. Despite his unquestionable strength, however, there are a few Conqueror's Haki users superior to Luffy.

4 Kaido Is Known As The Strongest Creature In The World

Also known as the "Strongest Creature in the World," Kaido is among the most powerful characters to ever exist in the world of One Piece. Prior to his defeat at the hands of Monkey D. Luffy, he had a bounty of 4.6 billion Berries — the highest for any active pirate following Whitebeard's demise during the Marineford Arc. Kaido's dragon-themed Devil Fruit is only part of his strength; the rest comes from his reliance on all three types of Haki.

During the Raid on Onigashima, Kaido showcased the full breadth of his Conqueror's Haki-related talents. He effortlessly coats his strikes with the technique, making him one of the most devastating threats shown in the entire series. Were it not for Monkey D. Luffy's reality-altering Devil Fruit, Kaido's Haki would likely still reign supreme.

3 Whitebeard Was Once The Strongest Man In One Piece

Edward Newgate, or Whitebeard, was once the strongest man in the world of One Piece. Arguably the most powerful of the four Emperors of the Sea, he was an adept user of all three types of Haki. As a result, it goes without saying that he had mastered the use of Conqueror's Haki as well. Upon clashing with Shanks, Whitebeard's Haki was able to split the skies themselves.

When Whitebeard clashed with Gol D. Roger in a flashback scene, the power of their Conqueror's Haki was such that the air itself began to crack and fissure, blowing away everything in their surrounding area. Unfortunately, Whitebeard failed to use Conqueror's Haki over the course of the Summit War due to his existing illness. If he had succeeded, Ace might have survived and Blackbeard could have been killed.

2 Gol D. Roger Is One Of The Greatest Pirates In History

As the King of the Pirates, Gol D. Roger is one of the strongest pirates to have ever lived in the world of One Piece. Roger had no equal while he roamed the seas, and his position as Pirate King remains untouched 24 years after his death. Although Edward Newgate matched him blow-for-blow in combat, Roger's unyielding desire to leave his mark on the world likely made his Conqueror's Haki second to none.

When Roger's blade — named "Ace," an allusion to his only son — met Whitebeard's in combat, their two weapons were unable to even touch due to the intense aura of Conqueror's Haki that surrounded them. In fact, there aren't many people in One Piece capable of inspiring as much awe as Gol D. Roger. The fandom desperately needs more flashback scenes highlighting the Pirate King's combat skills.

Shanks is the Captain of the Red-Hair Pirates and one of the Four Emperors, just like Buggy, Luffy, and Blackbeard. He is an exceptionally powerful fighter and has earned a massive bounty of over 4 billion Berries in an extremely short amount of time — all without the aid of a Devil Fruit. As a result, it's not too much of a stretch to claim that Shanks is possibly the strongest Conqueror's Haki user alive in One Piece.

He paralyzed Admiral Ryokugyu, one of the strongest Marines in the entire world, with his Conqueror's Haki from miles away. In addition to this, the Red-Haired pirate also possesses the ability to counteract Future Vision, an ability made possible by highly advanced Observation Haki, proving that his Conqueror's Haki is so adept that it can literally negate other characters' abilities. With Shanks in the running to find the island of Laugh Tale, Luffy's got some stiff competition.
