The Buster Call is one of the deadliest military maneuvers in the One Piece universe. It entails a full-scale marine invasion of a designated target point, usually resulting with the area being firebombed into the sea. Unstoppable and grand, it is considered a death sentence for those caught in its path.

So far, the Buster Call has completely obliterated Ohara and Enies Lobby. However, there are characters capable of surviving it regardless of its destructive potential. Only these few select One Piece characters have what it takes to withstand the World Government and the legions of devoted soldiers under its command.

10 Bon Clay Could Sneak Aboard An Enemy Ship

Before an area is bombarded, the marines do a full sweep in order to ensure that no one has escaped through other means. Bon Clay would use this opportunity to pacify a weak soldier, assume their likeness, and slip aboard a navy vessel.

Although nowhere near strong enough to contend against a vice admiral or their superiors, Clay's deception would be more than sufficient for outlasting the destruction of the Buster Call. After, it is only a matter of making it off the ship without creating suspicion.

9 Kanjuro Has Several Means Of Escaping The Buster Call

Kurozumi Kanjuro Using His Drawing Skills

Kanjuro's diverse skill set would provide a number of ways to escape the Buster Call. For example, he could create a bird to fly over naval ships, using his "Evening Shower" attack in order to dissuade the marines from pursuing him.

Failing that, Kanjuro could also use his acting skills in order to convince the marines that he was actually fighting in their best interest. Since he was able to deceive Oden's retainers for his entire life, they'd be convinced by his performance just as easily.

8 Doflamingo Could Crush His Enemies In A Bird Cage

Doflamingo has several ways of escaping the Buster Call. His most convenient route would be to use his political power as a Celestial Dragon in order to call it off. Failing that, he could corral the enemy forces in a bird cage, gradually closing it around them until they were utterly crushed to death.

Having the ability to fly, Doflamingo would also be able to soar above enemy battleships, should he prefer a non-confrontational approach that minimizes the potential for injury.

7 Dragon Could Use His Resources In Order To Defeat The Marines

As one of the world's most physically and socially powerful people, Dragon could survive a Buster Call with ease. His most surefire way of escape is by using a Revolutionary Army mole in order to warn him of the attack and flee well in advance. Considering how many marines are involved in the invasion, at least one of them would be an informant.

Alternatively, he could use his generals in the Revolutionary Army itself in order to create an escape tunnel, provided he isn't able to simply dismantle the enemy fleet himself.

6 Aokiji Can Create His Own Escape Route

Admiral Aokiji from One Piece

Now that Aokiji has left the marines, he cannot simply cancel the Buster Call. Fortunately, his devil fruit would provide many appealing alternatives to escape.

Considering that he was able to freeze Whitebeard's Moby Dick, he'd be able to halt the World Government's armada in ice just as easily. This would provide him ample time to retreat in the opposite direction while his enemies attempted to thaw their boats. Aokiji's method would be so effective at slowing down a Buster Call that it may even result in other people surviving alongside him.

5 Shiryu Of The Rain Could Sneak Aboard A Ship With His Invisibility

Handpicked by Blackbeard himself, Shiryu's combat potential is strongly implied. As the new user of the Clear-Clear fruit, the villain is in a much greater position to survive a Buster Call than most since he can turn invisible.

All he would have to do is make his way aboard a marine vessel before the bombings began. Should an enemy conveniently manage to detect him, he would slice their throats before they had a chance to call for backup. Shiryu's combination of force and stealth would ensure his escape.

4 Big Mom Could Turn The Entire Area Against The Marines

Big Mom from One Piece.

As an emperor of the sea, Big Mom has dozens of advantages over the marines. Even if she can't bring her children to assist her, she is able to disperse her power across hundreds of inanimate objects in order to create makeshift soldiers.

The highest-ranking officers in a Buster Call are ordinary admirals, and they would not be able to stand against her in a duel. The marines would retreat shortly after their leader's defeat, making for one of the most embarrassing losses for the World Government since the Dressrosa incident.

3 Hody Jones Is An Excellent Seafaring Warrior

As the leader of the New Fish-Man pirates, Hody Jones is the pinnacle of aquatic might. When taking energy steroids, he could destroy entire columns of coral reefs with a single projectile. It stands to reason that he'd crush World Government battleships just as easily.

Though Hody may not last against vice admirals, he'd only need to damage their ships enough to enable his retreat in the opposite direction. Given how fast he can swim and how deep he is able to submerge, no one would ever catch up with him.

2 Nothing Short Of A Fleet Admiral Could Defy Blackbeard

During the battle for Marineford, Blackbeard proved so dangerous that not even the admirals could approach him. Only Sengoku managed to fend off his attack, taking him out with a cheap shot.

Since then, Blackbeard has had time to not only perfect his abilities but also gain more experience in battle. Should he be threatened by a Buster Call, he would cast the ships into the air with a deadly earthquake, then vacuum them into his horrific darkness fruit.

1 Kuma Could Propel Himself Well Beyond The Buster Call's Reach

Kuma Towers Over The Pirates In One Piece

Kuma's Paw-Paw fruit allowed him to send targets flying across the world in a single touch. He can cast it on others or himself, as proven through the events of Thriller Bark and Sabaody.

As not even the marines' fastest admiral, Kizaru, was able to negate its effects, it follows that Kuma could make a comfortable escape from wherever he was threatened. The only way the government could stop him is by defeating him in a single hit. Given the man's mechanical body and unfathomably high resilience, however, such a tactic is unlikely to succeed.
