The following contains spoilers for One Piece Chapter 1068, "A Genius's Dream," by Eiichiro Oda, Stephen Paul and Vanessa Satone, available in English from Viz Media.

After Luffy, Chopper, Jimbei and Jewelry Bonney are separated from the rest of the crew, the other members of the Straw Hat Pirates are led and toured by Dr. Vegapunk's satellites in Chapter 1067 of One Piece. Shaka The Good has also recently revealed the events that unfolded after the devastating Ohara Buster Call incident to Robin and the others. He tells her how the records that the scientists have desperately tried to salvage have survived. Shaka also reveals that those same scriptures may hold the mystery of the Void Century, adding that he has all this information stored in his brain.

Speaking of brains, Luffy and the others have also met with the original Dr. Vegapunk, who introduces himself to Luffy and the others. He explains to the pirates how the island of Egghead functions, including his Satellites. When Jimbei inquires about the discrepancy between his current appearance and what is known about him, Dr. Vegapunk reveals that he has had his brain removed. He has apparently consumed the Brain-Brain Fruit, which makes his brain grow bigger as it absorbs more information. As such, he has removed it and placed it in a special laboratory called the Punk Records. The bigger surprise, however, is when Dr. Vegapunk asks Luffy to take him off Egghead.

CP0 in One Piece

Chapter 1068 shows Pythagoras The Wise greeting the Cipher Pol as they dock on Egghead. The Satellite stops them in their tracks. According to it, the Seraphim is capable of returning to its rightful place from there. Pythagoras also extends their apologies to the government agents, citing the island's busy schedule. However, Cipher Pol 0 isn't going to back down that easily. They first take note of how inhospitable the doctor is being. After that fails to work, they start to become more aggressive. Rob Lucci inquires about Dr. Vegapunk's awareness regarding certain disappearances of various Cipher Pol units.

The Satellites, of course, refute the claim, adamantly saying that every ship that has visited Egghead has safely left the port. Without any other evidence and with the mechanical Sea Beasts surrounding them, CP0 fails to do anything further. Back in Kamabakka Queendom, the tattered Bartholomew Kuma continues to run aimlessly. He even uses his Devil Fruit power to transport himself elsewhere.

Vegapunk's dream in One Piece.

Shifting back to Egghead, Luffy shows his surprise over Dr. Vegapunk's request. The genius doctor then continues to justify his decision. He tells Luffy about his dream of creating an ideal world through science. His aim is to provide the world with free energy, which he hopes will stop most of humanity's stupid wars. Needless to say, Luffy fails to understand anything the doctor is spouting. He has zero interest in the doctor's dream, so the pirate shifts the conversation back to its original path, asking the doctor why he wants to leave Egghead.

Dr. Vegapunk further explains his decision. According to him, the answer to his dream may be the power source of the machine soldier Luffy and the others have recently discovered -- Ancient Energy. The quest for an answer leads him to the past. However, too much digging has resulted in him being targeted by the World Government. He is therefore hoping to receive the Straw Hats' support and protection. Before Dr. Vegapunk can explain further, an explosion occurs.

CP0 breaching Egghead in one Piece

CP0 breaches Egghead's security and reaches land. They have apparently destroyed two of the mechanical Sea Beasts. It is also revealed that the other Sea Beasts have begun to eat their ships. The agents have only managed to set put on the land by using the Kuma Seraphim's ability. Knowing that, Shaka delegates the tasks to the other Satellites. He even orders the mobilization of the other Seraphims, which will be led by Sentomaru.

Back to Luffy and the others, Dr. Vegapunk once again asks for Luffy's permission to join their journey. Unsurprisingly, Luffy agrees to the doctor's request due to his funny head. Since the land is soon to become a battlefield, Dr. Vegapunk asks Luffy and the others to go up. As soon as the Straw Hats have agreed, Dr. Vegapunk vanishes on the spot. His disappearance once again shocks Luffy and Chopper.

Kaku attacking a hologram in One Piece

Meanwhile, the CP0 is already facing the holograms of Fabriophase. Nonetheless, since the monsters are simply holograms, their attacks only hit the air. Kaku then decides to head higher and search for the genius doctor from above. However, Kaku is shot down after reaching the Frontier Dome, the defensive mechanism protecting Labophase. Despite being hit by a laser head-on, Kaku survives with only a few burns. That's when Atlas arrives. The Satellite attempts to fight against the CP0 but is easily shot down by Lucci.

Lucci uses his Six King Pistol on Atlas, boring numerous holes in the gigantic Satellite. However, that is still not the end. Lucci follows with yet another attack. Atlas's already damaged head gets hit with another explosion, causing Atlas to collapse on the floor. Even so, Lucci realized that Atlas is far from death. Interestingly, this is also the moment when Luffy and the others appear. Luffy is carrying Bonney on his back when he recognizes a familiar face.
