The following contains spoilers for One Piece Chapter 1055, "The New Era," by Eiichiro Oda, Stephen Paul and Vanessa Satone, available in English from Viz Media.

One Piece Chapter 1054 saw Aramaki be confronted outside the Flower Capital by the retainers and battling against them. He revealed his Devil Fruit to be the Mori Mori no Mi, battling against them until Yamato and Momonosuke came to their aid. Momo, despite not being able to use his Dragon Form's attacks, ordered Yamato to not fight. Outside Wano, Shanks' crew were talking excitedly about Luffy and wanting to congratulate him. Shanks, however, declined and instead suggested they go claim the One Piece. Akainu at Navy HQ was being briefed on the revolution taking place, with Sabo being called "Flame Emperor" by the people who believed in his cause. Despite this, Akainu remained firm that he would "drive every one of them back into the depths of the sea."

In Chapter 1055, as the people of Wano continue their celebration, Momonosuke and his group continue their battle against Navy Admiral Ryokugyu (Aramaki), who has fully revealed the capabilities of his Mori Mori no Mi, or the Woods-Woods Fruit. Despite being pummeled by Aramaki, Momo continues to order Yamato to not fight. Aramaki throws him to the ground, prompting Raizo to unleash a fire attack on him.

Aramaki then explains that the plants he creates are immune to fire. A vine smacks into Raizo’s chest and begins draining his body of all liquid. The others try to fight back, but the plants keep coming. Unable to keep it up, they become entangled by the vines.

Meanwhile, Robin and Kozuki Sukiyaki are joined by Law, who noticed that she was missing from the celebration and found them. Sukiyaki leads them down a flight of stairs beneath his secret room in the basement. He explains that while he kept the location of the Poneglyph secret from Orochi and Kaido, they were still able to find it because Jack was a Fish-Man. Robin asks why that would make the Poneglyph easier to find, but Sukiyaki just says it's better for her to see where the Poneglyph is to understand.

As they continue to descend, Robin notices a light and asks what’s causing it. Sukiyaki answers that it’s a tunnel with a glass block at the end. Robin crawls in, joined by Law, who pops in next to her. They both look on in amazement as it looks like Wano has been submerged underwater.

Sukiyaki says that this Wano is over 800 years old but isn’t sure why it was covered in water. At some point, walls grew around the country and caused rainwater to collect. Because the water had no place to go, it covered most of what Wano used to be and caused the people to create new cities on the mountain.

They finally reach the end of the staircase and are presented with the Road Poneglyph, meaning they only need one more before they can go to Laugh Tale. Sukiyaki goes on to explain that if they were to go deeper, they would find the Ancient Weapon Pluton. In order to get to it, the walls around Wano would need to be destroyed, which would release the Ancient Weapon. Robin wonders why Kozuki Oden would want to do that, but Sukiyaki doesn’t have an answer.

Back outside the Flower Capital, Aramaki says that he wouldn’t be in Wano if Kaido were still around. He was the reason that enemies stayed away. He once again demands that Luffy be brought to him, saying that he will leave after. Yamato says that they can rely on Luffy and the others, but Momo still refuses. The reason he refuses to call them or let Yamato fight is because they want to leave Wano. He wants to show them that the country doesn’t need to rely on others to protect itself.

He once again tries launching a Blast Breath, ordering Aramaki to leave. Initially, he isn’t able to produce the attack, but he keeps trying. Finally, he’s able to successfully attack Aramaki, severely injuring him. The others are freed and ecstatic that he’s able to attack with his Dragon Form. He launches another successful attack, setting Aramaki on fire. A small plant bud pops up from the ground and a copy of Aramaki sprouts from it. He's still able to control the larger, tree-like body, but just as he's about to engage Momonosuke, black lightning flashes across the sky.

It's Shanks releasing his Supreme King Haki, though he's still on his ship in the ocean. He chastises Aramaki for fighting while the others are still recovering from changing history, asking if he's "that afraid of the new era." This prompts Aramaki to leave, saying he doesn't want to pick a fight yet. Up on the cliff, Sanji, Luffy, Jimbei and Zoro watch on, relieved that Aramaki is leaving. They speculate whose Haki that was, and Luffy replies that it made him think of someone familiar...

The next chapter of One Piece will be available on Sunday, August 7th.
