WARNING: The following contains spoilers for One Piece Chapter #1025, "Twin Dragons," by Eiichiro Oda, Stephen Paul and Vanessa Satone, available in English via Manga Plus and Viz Media.

Chapter #1023 of One Piece saw Momonosuke given a new adult body with help from Shinobu's devil fruit powers, and with it, a larger and more powerful dragon form he could use to carry Luffy back to Onigashima. It's a noble sacrifice on Momo's part to give up his childhood in the service of protecting his country. Unfortunately, Chapter #1025 shows that while his body greatly matured, his mind has still some way to go.

Luffy was prepared to head right up to Onigashima on top of Momo, but it seems the Wano's future shogun has not gotten over his fear of heights. In fact, with his body so much larger, it may have only increased his fear.

Eventually, Momo does manage to lift himself into the air toward Onigashima, but the massive dragon can't even keep his eyes open while flying. To great comedic effect, he crashes through the wall of the Performance Hall, shocking everyone inside. Just when Sanji and Zoro think there's nothing left their captain can do to surprise them, Luffy breaks through a ceiling while riding a giant pink dragon.

Momonosuke is on a complete rampage at this point, unable to control his trajectory or speed. The dragon then dives from out of the second floor, taking Big Mom, Law and Kidd completely by surprise. Luffy keeps trying to get Momo to act more precisely but the poor dragon has some rubble and dust in his eye -- a mundane but hilarious reason to have him thrash about the entire complex.

Despite all the madness, Luffy and Momo make it out of the fortress and appear over the rooftop where Yamato and Kaido are still trading blows. When Luffy sees Yamato readying his next attack, the rubber man shifts into Gear Four Snakeman. Then he and Luffy hit Kaido at the exact same time, sending the Yonko flying in a dynamic action panel. Upon seeing Luffy once again, Yamato cheers in delight, and Luffy thanks him for holding back Kaido this whole time; it's a genuinely sweet moment.

However, Kaido reemerges from the dust in his dragon form, curious about this new pink dragon Luffy arrived on. Neither he nor Momo hide their goals from Kaido -- becoming King of the Pirates and Shogun of Wano, respectively. Kaido laughs with curious amusement, remarking that the "world doesn't need two dragons," as One Piece Chapter #1025 concludes.

A part of One Piece that still separates it from other shonen manga to this day is, it's not afraid to bring out some comedy or absurdity even in the climactic action moments. Luffy and Momonosuke barreling through all the different floors of Wano that we're so used to by now -- while also surprising all the other characters -- is just hilarious. It adds some much-needed levity, especially after Chapter #1024 was a heavy one to take in. Now at last, we're about to return to (what could be) the final showdown between Luffy and Kaido.
