Anime is already famous for creating 2D delicacies that can practically be smelled in everyone's living rooms. That tradition is no different in one of the most popular Shonen series of all time, One Piece. This pirating world gets to take its cuisines up a notch by infusing them with the special cultural flares of the world's different countries and people.

The food in One Piece can have the power to speak louder than the mouths that eat them, as they reveal a lot about a person's character. Holding that character development and potential flavor in mind, this list will be looking at some of One Piece's most delectable foods.

10 Sea King Penne Gorgonzola

When Bartholomew Kuma sent Luffy to Amazon Lily, he had a hard time grasping the cultural barrier around him and often clashed with the female sensibilities around him. For a country whose ruler had come to hate man's world, they didn't really take this well; but after getting to know him, everyone, including their queen, Boa Hancock, began to take him with open arms.

Celebrating their new friendship, they gave Luffy a variety of the country's special dishes, including their special Penne Gorgonzola made with Sea King meat. Sea King meat is already a popular treat for the Straw Hats given their constant confrontations with the beast, but Luffy was still able to praise this delicacy.

9 Bellemere's Special Mikan Sauce

While there's plenty of dishes and junk food galore in One Piece, every now and then, everyone needs a little fruit in their diet. And while the Devil Fruits are a pretty tempting prospect, they are infamous for their foul flavor. However, for One Piece fans, there is one treat that any fan can enjoy, and that's Nami's mikans.

While the English translation says "tangerines," Nami's favorite fruit is actually an Asian citrus fruit called mikan that's plentiful on her native island. Before Bellemere died, she tried to prepare for her daughters a roast that utilized a special sauce made from the mikan. While it never got to be enjoyed in the show, the homemade dish is sure to be packed with plenty of the best ingredient: love.

8 Chopper's Cotton Candy

Tony Tony Chopper's moniker in the pirating world isn't "Doctor," "Monster," or even "Raccoon Dog" (though people have heavily tried to get the latter going). Instead, Chopper is known throughout the world as the infamous... Cotton Candy Lover. Good for the World Government for gathering this important intelligence.

While it is a weird nickname, Chopper's favorite treat in the world is cotton candy and watching him eat it is such an adorable sight that he almost makes his fans want to reach in and grab a piece.

7 Franky's Cola

The crew's shipwright, Franky, is famous for embodying several American tropes such as a wicked beach bod, an exuberant attitude, and, of course, a deep love of cola.

Franky loves the stuff so much that he literally powers all of his devices with the stuff, even his own mechanical body. Seeing how energetic it makes him and how fresh, cool, and delicious the series constantly makes it look, Coke should definitely do more commercials with them.

6 Luffy's Meat

Luffy's obsessive love for meat isn't even One Piece trivia at this point. It's practically part of the pirate captain's character design to constantly be carrying and munching on a piece of meat. Luffy's iconic chunks of meat, in particular, are just an umbrella term for different pieces of meat that somehow get prepared into the same shape, i.e. a cylindrical, crispy chunk surrounding a lone bone.

The various meats that Luffy has enjoyed across the series include everything from dinosaurs to wild boars, yet each one looks just as soft, savory, and delectable as the last.

5 Water Seven's Mizu Mizu Meat Barbecue

While Luffy's meat may be one of the most iconic showings of the food group in the series, it's not necessarily the best looking or most uniquely prepared. That honor may perhaps go to Water Seven's mizu mizu meat. This particular protein perfectly matches the watery moniker of its home city, as the meat itself looks juicy enough for the characters to practically drink.

After the Straw Hats rescued Nico Robin from Enies Lobby, they'd venture back to Water Seven for a huge celebration that featured some mouthwatering mizu mizu meat barbecue.

4 Elbaf's Semla

While Big Mom is a terrifying and tyrannical ruler, it's hard to argue that she doesn't have some good taste. Big Mom is an infamous glutton who has tasted different treats from across the world. One that gets to hold a special spot as one of her all-time favorites is Elbaf's semla. This sweet roll's shell is made from cardamon-spiced wheat bread that's stuffed with a creamy filling.

It's traditionally eaten right before Elbaf's Winter Solstice Festival, but the giants were forced to make a special exception one day when Big Mom went into one of her special rampages as just a kid. While there's no excusing her destructive behavior, fans can kind of understand her tantrum after just looking at what is essentially a cream puff.

3 Sanji's Curry

To be fair, this particular dish isn't canon. However, it's fictional food and perhaps Sanji's most famous dish in the entire series. During one of the filler episodes, the Straw Hats happened to pass by a Marine ship.

After infiltrating it, Sanji happened upon a struggling, apprentice chef who needed help preparing a special curry meal for an annual dinner between some Marine elites. Sanji just couldn't pass off the request and helped the boy create a curry so delicious that it made some fans forgive the series for making another filler episode.

2 Sanji's Seafood Risotto

Sanji was of course not just gonna appear on this list once. As the Straw Hats' resident cook, it's customary for the lad to make some of the most delicious, yet energizing, foods around. One that may have literally given a man back his life was a seafood risotto made for the first mate of the Krieg Pirates.

When Gin the Man-Demon was simply scouting out the Baratie for Don Krieg, he came across the sudden generosity of a swirly-eyebrowed chef and got to eat one delicious looking plate of seafood.

1 Big Mom's Wedding Cake

Big Mom's Wedding Cake Cropped

Finally, this list reaches an item that may have very well been the center of an entire canon arc. Out of all the places that he could've made a surprise appearance, Luffy and a swarm of clones jump out of Big Mom's massive wedding cake and destroyed the whole thing... among other things.

After this incurs Big Mom's wrath, Sanji, Chiffon, and Pudding were forced to quickly prepare another cake that perfectly replicated the size and flavor of the original dessert. Thankfully, Sanji has a perfect palette. Using the mythical ingredients collected from around the world, Pudding was able to replicate the chocolate, Chiffon was able to replicate the chiffon cake, and Sanji was able to create the beautiful looking frosting. It was a treat that could quell any beast.
