The Straw Hat Pirates are the primary focus of the One Piece series. After all, they're led by the notable main protagonist, Monkey D. Luffy. The infamous crew is named after their leader's signature hat, which he received from his idol, Red-Haired Shanks.

The oddball team of pirates is the heart and soul of One Piece, so fans love to go all-out with their portrayals of the members. Here are 10 amazing Straw Hat cosplays that look just like the anime.

10 Nico Robin

Robin (@robin_ren) is an Italian cosplayer with a strong affinity for her "Queen," pirate/archeologist Nico Robin. The One Piece fan has replicated multiple Nico ensembles, but this look from the Alabasta Saga — where she was actually an antagonist before ultimately siding with Luffy — is a standout.

The outfit is impressively accurate, including the embellished cowboy hat and white coat. The colored contacts were provided by the Sacadranca Shop (@sacadranca_shop on Instagram).

9 Sanji

Canadian cosplayer Tenli (@tenli_cos) compiled this Sanji attire on a whim to appease their followers. You know you have a natural knack for cosplaying when you can assemble such an uncanny look at three in the morning on a sleepless night.

Piercings aside, this Sanji portrayal is just about perfect. Of course, the eyebrows are drawn with their token swirling pattern and the facial "hair" is spot-on. The wig is the icing on top, proving that Tenli's talent is solid enough to make even the most minimal cosplay look like it was pulled straight from the anime.

8 Usopp

Gatz (@gatz_cosplay) is an international cosplayer/athlete with a loyal following and an Instagram feed stocked with incredible costumes. While Usopp might not be the most popular Straw Hat member, Gatz has no qualms about tackling the pirate's quirky appearance, long nose and all.

Usopp was known to be a bit of a sentimental coward, oftentimes serving as comedic relief. Nonetheless, he would always strive to be better. According to Gatz, this is what makes the pirate far more relatable than other characters, thus explaining his choice of cosplay.

7 Tony Tony Chopper

Lauren (@savvysparrow95) is a massive Pirates of the Caribbean fan, so it's only fitting that she's also into One Piece and the Straw Hat crew. She claims that Tony Tony Chopper is her go-to cosplay because it's comfortable and easy to get into character.

Chopper is the adorable doctor of the team whose confidence and maturity expand over the course of the series. Lauren's cosplay is equally as charming as the official character design, especially with the aid of the large hat. The only difference is that she's slightly taller than the pint-sized doctor.

6 Nico Robin

German cosplayer @Karpowskaja specializes in Nico Robin ensembles, though her feed provides a handful of other character interpretations. However, you can't get any better than this anime-worthy edit courtesy of fellow cosplayer Moeena (@moeena_cosplay).

Every article of clothing is precise, but we'd really like to know where the One Piece fan acquired such a majestic coat. Perhaps one of her five arms will kindly point us in the right direction.

5 Monkey D. Luffy

Matteo (@matte_rufy_89) is an Italian personal trainer, which explains why his Monkey D. Luffy rendition had to go beyond the protagonist's standard form. To be fair, every single one of Matteo's costumes displays his ripped physique front and center.

Luffy's Gear Fourth technique was developed during the pirate's two-year training on the island of Rusukaina. The Snakeman form that Matteo replicated features a sharp increase in speed, though he also appears more muscular.

4 Monkey D. Luffy

Roman (@senchocosplayeur) is a French cosplayer who has taken a particular liking to portraying the Straw Hat Pirate leader, Monkey D. Luffy. His impressive take on the Whole Cake Island version of the main character is definitely one for the books, even though he has challenged himself with several other costumes.

Roman's outfit is identical to the one present in the anime and the makeup grants him that wide-eyed Luffy expression that we're so familiar with. The additional cake prop is just as humorous as it is well-made.

3 Nami

As the official navigator of the Straw Hat Pirates, Nami is one of the brightest and most popular characters in the series. Sammy (@sammyscosplay) from The Netherlands is the epitome of a real-life version of the "Cat Burglar".

The orange wig and the brown eyes are obvious similarities, but the cosplay as a whole is noteworthy. Sammy is currently working on a new outfit for Nami, but she rocks this costume by EZCosplay like a pro. We can't imagine it getting any better than this, but we eagerly await Sammy's new rendition of the character.

2 Sanji

Sanji is one of the most beloved characters in the One Piece series. He's an unabashed womanizer with a smooth personality and he can cook. What's not to love? He serves as the official chef of the Straw Hat Pirates, but he's also a top-notch fighter.

Sanji's look boils down to the hair and the eyebrows, though a suitable outfit always helps. Cosplayer Eiki (@eiki_cos) has this portrayal down to a science, cigarette and all. Now, if only we could transport him into the anime... or at least a live-action remake.

1 Roronoa Zoro

This edit of Dorian (@axel_cosplay) as Roronoa Zoro is so stunning, we can't believe it's not a still from the One Piece anime itself. The attire is meticulously detailed and everything from the wig to the scars is flawless. Props are important when cosplaying Zoro, so you know the three swords are a must.

What makes this rendition so remarkable is the fact that Dorian exudes the proper emotions on camera. He looks fierce and confident, proving yet again that cosplay goes beyond clothes and makeup. You need to mimic the character's personality in order to be truly convincing.
