Back in March, streaming giant Netflix axed its original series One Day at a Time after three seasons. Now, the show has found a new home on Pop, the network behind Schitt's Creek.

According to Deadline, One Day at a Time has been renewed for a fourth season, which will clock in at 13 episodes. Season 4 is set to launch sometime next year. A division of CBS, Pop has also purchased the linear rights to the first three seasons. This is the first time a cancelled Netflix series has been picked up by another network.

"We are disrupting the disruptors," Pop President Brad Schwartz said in a statement. "I also felt it was such an important show that dealt with love and inclusion and acceptance and diversity, a single mother head of household and socioeconomic issues. It was such a well constructed and beautiful show, and it had a lot of the same themes and a lot of the same emotion that Schitt's Creek has. It felt that show belonged on Pop and on a network that also had Schitt's Creek, so we started dreaming 'what if.'"

One Day at a Time will air exclusively on Pop at the outset. Later in the year, CBS will start airing reruns. Because of the series' Netflix deal, it cannot continue on another streaming service, which bars it from appearing on CBS All Access. The first three seasons will also continue to stream on Netflix.

One Day at a Time's cancellation was met with protests from fans, who petitioned for another network to pick up the multi-camera family comedy. Regardless of whether or not this had any bearing on CBS' purchase, they will be pleased to find new episodes of the show on Pop.

Returning for Season 4 on Pop sometime in 2020, One Day at a Time stars Rita Moreno, Justina Machado, Todd Grinnell, Isabella Gomez and Marcel Ruiz.
